I have so many things on my "to do" list for the next 48 hours. I am hosting a cookie exchange here at my home tomorrow night and I needed to make A LOT of cookies and fudge for it.
I decided to "kill two birds with one stone" so to speak. We are studying penguins in homeschool right now and yesterday I got March of the Penguins DVD from the library. I popped that in the TV/DVD combo that is in the kitchen and we all watched it while the kids helped me make cookies.
I just love that movie every time I watch it! The kids were fascinated with the movie and could not believe what the Emperor Penguins endure to mate and grow the family. Great way to multi-task and get it done! Kitchen was a disaster, but worth it!
**** Why not hop over to Stuff and Nonsense and visit with Alison. She is hosting a Virtual Cookie Exchange! It's lots of fun and you get new recipes!

Our fudge: 1 bag of choc. chips, 1 can of sweetened condensed milk, 2 tbls water and 1 tbls vanilla. Mix together, adding anything you want. We added North Carolina Peanuts that my dad sent up. They were so FRESH!
Peanut Butter Cookies with choc. drizzle. We doubled the recipe to make lots. 1 Jar of your favorite Peanut butter, 2 cups of sugar, 1 tbls of vanilla, 2 eggs. Mix all together...add your favorite cruchies. We used the fresh peanuts again. Bake at 350 for 7 mins, don't let them get brown on the bottom. After they cool for a bit, heat up your choc. chips in the microwave (1 mins at a time) and then drizzle the choc. over the cookies. YUMMO!
There were reg. sugar cookies we make but dunked into choc. on 1/2 of them and the kids added their sprinkles. Easy and looks great!
These are the small finger size pretzels that we dunked into our melted choc. (same choc. as for the cookies above) and then the kids rolled them into their favorite toppings. Easy and so cute!
So there you have it...our Easy Fudge, Peanut butter Choc. Drizzle Cookies, 1/2 Painted Sugar Cookies and our Deluxe Pretzels. All kid friendly (if no allergies) and easy for the kiddies to help you decorate and make!
Be sure to check in with us tomorrow when you will see where we have used our Salvation Army Budget Holiday decorations!
