Homeschool Mother's Journal # 5

The Homeschool Chick

In my life this week...

Great week overall for school and home life. Little mad at myself for not using self-control better on all the V’day goodies we had in the house!  Got some beautiful roses from the hubby~!

In our homeschool this week... Our Homeschool Week in Review

We were relaxed in school this week…with V’day party we hosted on Monday…we went to the gym Tues and Wed for some run around time..Thursday the hubby was off and the boys went skiing while I took the girls to the Bronx Zoo….Friday the boys went to pick up Zachary’s tux (he is in a wedding on Saturday) and Molly had a playdate. Over all great week!

Places we're going and people we're seeing...We made it to the gym twice, the Bronx Zoo and outside in the nice weather.

My favorite thing this week was...the entire day with the girls at the Zoo…

What's working/not working for us...being a little less structured this week worked well.

Homeschool questions/thoughts I have...just thanking God above for the path he has put us on!

A Photo to share.....

Hi I am following from the homeschool journal. It sounds like you had a great week! Sometimes it sure is nice to get away from the books and just enjoy time together. I love the picture!

National Chocolate Chip Day

May 15, 2012 is National Chocolate Chip Day Today is National Chocolate Chip Day! Chocolate chips are an essential ingredient in dozens of delicious baked goods—chocolate chip cookies, chocolate chip pancakes, chocolate chip muffins, chocolate chip brownies, chocolate chip bagels, and many more. You can even find chili recipes that call for these sweet morsels! In the 1930s, Ruth Graves Wakefield created the original chocolate chip cookie at her Toll House Inn in Whitman, Massachusetts. Ruth intended to bake chocolate cookies for her guests, but she ran out of baker’s chocolate. She substituted with chopped up semi-sweet chocolate morsels and discovered that the pieces did not melt into the dough as she expected. Her cookies were an instant hit. Today, 25% of all the cookies baked in the United States are chocolate chip! To celebrate National Chocolate Chip Day, pick up a bag of chocolate chips at the supermarket and bake something yummy to share with friends and cowor
