In my life this week.....week 6

The Homeschool Chick

In my life this week...

We went easy this week, being my birthday (lol) and public schools were off for Winter break around here…we went to a few playdates and I was preparing for March lesson plans!  March plans - Dr Seuss, Massachusetts and Cats for the animal of the month...

In our homeschool this week... We finished up our unit on Groundhogs and Pennsylvania.  Relaxed - but read a lot.

Places we're going and people we're seeing...
This week we visited my SIL and her kids and the kids loved seeing their cousins when it was not a b’day or holiday!   Quick trip to the library last night too!  Also a friend took me out to dinner for my b'day!

My favorite thing this week was...my birthday of course and the great giveways I am sharing with everyone (open until Sunday at noon EST) In addition, all the nice things everyone said about the blog in our giveaway comments this week.  Such great blogging friends out there!

What's working/not working for us...in the homeschool area – not much to report….BUT Weight Watchers is working wonders for me personally!  Lost 6 pounds since Sunday night!

Homeschool questions/thoughts I have...just thanking God above for the path he has put us on!

A photo to share...

Zachary was the ring bearer in a good friends wedding last Saturday..was able to get a decent shot of us!

National Chocolate Chip Day

May 15, 2012 is National Chocolate Chip Day Today is National Chocolate Chip Day! Chocolate chips are an essential ingredient in dozens of delicious baked goods—chocolate chip cookies, chocolate chip pancakes, chocolate chip muffins, chocolate chip brownies, chocolate chip bagels, and many more. You can even find chili recipes that call for these sweet morsels! In the 1930s, Ruth Graves Wakefield created the original chocolate chip cookie at her Toll House Inn in Whitman, Massachusetts. Ruth intended to bake chocolate cookies for her guests, but she ran out of baker’s chocolate. She substituted with chopped up semi-sweet chocolate morsels and discovered that the pieces did not melt into the dough as she expected. Her cookies were an instant hit. Today, 25% of all the cookies baked in the United States are chocolate chip! To celebrate National Chocolate Chip Day, pick up a bag of chocolate chips at the supermarket and bake something yummy to share with friends and cowor
