Puttin' on our Silly Hats....getting ready for March....

Putting on our silly hats
Reading our silly books
Celebrating for the month of March!

Finalizing the lesson plans together for March for the kids.  Looks like March will be just as busy as February was!  If you can't guess, our theme for the month will be Dr. Seuss.  It is Dr. Seuss' birthday on March 2nd and we will using this as our focus - focus on reading, rhyming and more....

Did you know that Dr Seuss wrote more than 40 books and drew most of the pictures himself?

He even wore many funny hats while writing which gave him inspiration.

I started decorating today for preparation of next weeks Birthday Party for Dr Seuss.....

Cat in the Hat looking thru a window I drew....he is checking out our Dr Seuss books for the month.

We will be watching the PBS Show "The Cat In the Hat Knows A Lot About That."

One of the trees I drew....we will see who ends up perched on the branches...

My Dr Seuss Banner I made...

Close up of some of the characters.

If you are interested in learning more about Dr Seuss and visiting Seussville....I encourage you to go to www.seussville.com and check out the site. SO many things for the kids to do....printables....parents section and more!

If you have not had a chance to enter any of the Birthday Week giveaways I am having...check them out....also the Lego Mania Linky party is up until Friday.

National Chocolate Chip Day

May 15, 2012 is National Chocolate Chip Day Today is National Chocolate Chip Day! Chocolate chips are an essential ingredient in dozens of delicious baked goods—chocolate chip cookies, chocolate chip pancakes, chocolate chip muffins, chocolate chip brownies, chocolate chip bagels, and many more. You can even find chili recipes that call for these sweet morsels! In the 1930s, Ruth Graves Wakefield created the original chocolate chip cookie at her Toll House Inn in Whitman, Massachusetts. Ruth intended to bake chocolate cookies for her guests, but she ran out of baker’s chocolate. She substituted with chopped up semi-sweet chocolate morsels and discovered that the pieces did not melt into the dough as she expected. Her cookies were an instant hit. Today, 25% of all the cookies baked in the United States are chocolate chip! To celebrate National Chocolate Chip Day, pick up a bag of chocolate chips at the supermarket and bake something yummy to share with friends and cowor
