Mother's Homeschool Journey week 8

The Homeschool Chick

In my life this week: Full of sick girls...ear infections....ER visit for Molly....rain rain rain....things have been hectic but I still managed to lose more weight on WW!  Down 12 pounds in less than 3 weeks!   My laptop died 2 weeks ago so I am working on the kids computer and it's old so things are a little tough...plus most all my pictures on on the old hard drive...but we ordered a new one, should be here today!

In our homeschool this week:  We have been continuing our Seuss studies and celebrated Mardi Gras also.

Places we're going and people we're seeing: The doctors and ER is really the only place we went this week....the weather has been less than fun to be out in.

My favorite thing this week: Seeing the ground without snow!  Picturing Spring coming soon!  I also received an EARLY Mother's Day gift from my mom...a Silhouette machine!  Can't wait to open that baby up and see what it's all about!

What's working/not working for us: things are going well in school.
Homeschool Questions/Thoughts I Have: I don't really have any questions this week

Photo to share.....Oh I wish I had one of these homemade goodies right now...lol

National Chocolate Chip Day

May 15, 2012 is National Chocolate Chip Day Today is National Chocolate Chip Day! Chocolate chips are an essential ingredient in dozens of delicious baked goods—chocolate chip cookies, chocolate chip pancakes, chocolate chip muffins, chocolate chip brownies, chocolate chip bagels, and many more. You can even find chili recipes that call for these sweet morsels! In the 1930s, Ruth Graves Wakefield created the original chocolate chip cookie at her Toll House Inn in Whitman, Massachusetts. Ruth intended to bake chocolate cookies for her guests, but she ran out of baker’s chocolate. She substituted with chopped up semi-sweet chocolate morsels and discovered that the pieces did not melt into the dough as she expected. Her cookies were an instant hit. Today, 25% of all the cookies baked in the United States are chocolate chip! To celebrate National Chocolate Chip Day, pick up a bag of chocolate chips at the supermarket and bake something yummy to share with friends and cowor
