Reading with your eyes shut!

In school yesterday we read this Dr Seuss book...

The kids loved it!

It's so hard to get a picture of Zachary with a "real" smile...I had the camera set up on the table and snapped it during the book reading....

We spoke about what it is like to not have your eye sight and then I did a few activities to back it up.

They found it hard to use their hands to find the shapes in the puzzle.

She has a piece of candy in her hand and guessed correctly.  I did not get a picture of it, but I have Zachary a 1/2 of a grape in his hand and said to him "Here is the inside of an eye ball"...he freaked out..lol....I said feel it, he would not...lol

Got out our Math Deluxe Game again...he loves it! If you missed our review of this game here it is.

Molly coloring the Lorax.

Dr Seuss Match Up game I made. She loved it!

Zachary is finishing up this book!

Today we are having our Dr Seuss Party as we end our month long Seuss Teachings!  Great things ahead in April!

There is still time to link up to the Lego Mania Party!

It is such fun to see what they will do blindfolded.
This looks like another great and fun lesson! I bet they appreciated their gift of sight even more after doing things blindfolded! My kids are enjoying the Math Deluxe game too that you reviewed and I bought based on your review! Thanks for linking this post to NOBH!

National Chocolate Chip Day

May 15, 2012 is National Chocolate Chip Day Today is National Chocolate Chip Day! Chocolate chips are an essential ingredient in dozens of delicious baked goods—chocolate chip cookies, chocolate chip pancakes, chocolate chip muffins, chocolate chip brownies, chocolate chip bagels, and many more. You can even find chili recipes that call for these sweet morsels! In the 1930s, Ruth Graves Wakefield created the original chocolate chip cookie at her Toll House Inn in Whitman, Massachusetts. Ruth intended to bake chocolate cookies for her guests, but she ran out of baker’s chocolate. She substituted with chopped up semi-sweet chocolate morsels and discovered that the pieces did not melt into the dough as she expected. Her cookies were an instant hit. Today, 25% of all the cookies baked in the United States are chocolate chip! To celebrate National Chocolate Chip Day, pick up a bag of chocolate chips at the supermarket and bake something yummy to share with friends and cowor
