Spring & Easter Decor

Now that Molly's birthday is over and the decorations have come down...it was time to think about decorating the house for Spring and Easter!  I got a few things out today....

My new Pottery Barn watering can (clearance sale!) and my new little chocolate bunnies (they are ceramic salt & pepper shakers - I found these cuties at the gift shop at our car wash..lol...it's an awesome shop!)

For this I bought a tin from the dollar bin at Target, used black primer and then chalkboard paint
Saved three egg shells (washed out of course) from our eggs and put some floral grass in there..cute huh

This goes on our main table...little basket with colored wooden eggs from an Etsy shop (love me some Etsy) and a Dollar Tree picture from with Happy Easter cut out on my new Silhouette machine. The flowers were from Michaels Crafts, dirt cheap...

Of course had to get out the burlap planters that I made (see tutorial here).

I am angry with myself because I used a GC to Pottery Barn that my son had given me for my b'day and bought these beauties...and now can't find them anywhere in the house!

So far....a few things...

What about you?  Decorating for the Spring yet?

oohh what fun! I love the three egg shells that you have in the target metal tin! I have an Easter decoration dilemma.. Maybe you can help me with my problem? Sammy's birthday is the 25 (the day after Easter) his party is the 23 (day before). Do I leave up Easter decorations for his party? If I take them down I know they wont get back up in time since we are doing a cookout on the 23rd night. I am not doing a big theme for his birthday but will def put up some simple decorations for it.. ideas?

I felt similar way too...with Molly's birthday right in the middle of Spring decor...and Sammies b'day is May 5th...so I put up Spring/Easter for a quick few weeks until more b'day stuff comes out..

I would say, decorate "light" things you can move easy. If you are planning the party activities in 1 room, then maybe stay clear of that room decorating but decorate others (bathroom etc)

National Chocolate Chip Day

May 15, 2012 is National Chocolate Chip Day Today is National Chocolate Chip Day! Chocolate chips are an essential ingredient in dozens of delicious baked goods—chocolate chip cookies, chocolate chip pancakes, chocolate chip muffins, chocolate chip brownies, chocolate chip bagels, and many more. You can even find chili recipes that call for these sweet morsels! In the 1930s, Ruth Graves Wakefield created the original chocolate chip cookie at her Toll House Inn in Whitman, Massachusetts. Ruth intended to bake chocolate cookies for her guests, but she ran out of baker’s chocolate. She substituted with chopped up semi-sweet chocolate morsels and discovered that the pieces did not melt into the dough as she expected. Her cookies were an instant hit. Today, 25% of all the cookies baked in the United States are chocolate chip! To celebrate National Chocolate Chip Day, pick up a bag of chocolate chips at the supermarket and bake something yummy to share with friends and cowor
