Time to Party - in an Ultimate Way!

Hey mom friends out there and 1st time visitors from 5 Minutes For Mom. Nice to have you all here!

Ultimate Blog Party 2011

Also on twitter at @5minutesformom  #UBP11 Join in the fun!

I am Melissa,  this is my 1st year participating in The Ultimate Blog Party with 5 Minutes for Mom and I am excited to share my blog with others.

Let me invite you in......

I started my blog originally to have a journal of sorts when my dad was having major heart surgery. Then did not blog for a LONG time.  This blog has morphed into a homeschooling blog with a mix of party planning and crafting. I guess you could say all three are my equal passions!

I am a mother of 4 with children's ages ranging from 22 yrs old all the way to 22 months!  Being a survivor of childhood cancer has made me have a zeal for life and we celebrate every chance we get!  I am also a daughter of God and love to share my thoughts with others.

I have met so many awesome people in blogland and hope to someday meet some of my favorite blogging friends in real life!

Let me show you my blessed family!

This is ME - Hi!

Here is a picture of my best friend, my hubby!  He is a HUGE Vikings fan!

Molly - will be 4 yrs on 4/5

Samantha (aka Sammie) will be 2 May 5th

Zachary - 6 (will be 7 in July)

Here is a picture of my husband (on the left) and my oldest, Jeremy on the right.

We live about an hour North of New York City in Orange County, NY.  We have a country life with the city down the road, best of both worlds!

Love my family!  I stay at home and homeschool the younger 3, take care of our home and my husband!

..need a break for 5 minutes...why not hop on over to the Ultimate Blog Party and join in!  Prizes, Fun, exposure to your blog and did I mention prizes! I can't wait to meet more bloggers and have a great time at the Ultimate Party!

Please link up your blog so I can come visit and say Hi!

Beautiful family! We're homeschoolers, too, but I've got to say I'm terrible at crafts and party planning, so you've got me beat in those categories. Probably in homeschooling, too. I'm a rookie. LOL

Nice to meet you! I blog at http://getalonghome.com if you'd like to come have a look sometime.

Stopping by from the UBP, although I've been here before!

I never knew the story behind the blog, other than the fact that you homeschooled. I'm glad I got to know you a bit better.

The age span of your children reminds me of my family: we've got ages from 30 down to 13. Makes for an interesting family.

Have a great week!

National Chocolate Chip Day

May 15, 2012 is National Chocolate Chip Day Today is National Chocolate Chip Day! Chocolate chips are an essential ingredient in dozens of delicious baked goods—chocolate chip cookies, chocolate chip pancakes, chocolate chip muffins, chocolate chip brownies, chocolate chip bagels, and many more. You can even find chili recipes that call for these sweet morsels! In the 1930s, Ruth Graves Wakefield created the original chocolate chip cookie at her Toll House Inn in Whitman, Massachusetts. Ruth intended to bake chocolate cookies for her guests, but she ran out of baker’s chocolate. She substituted with chopped up semi-sweet chocolate morsels and discovered that the pieces did not melt into the dough as she expected. Her cookies were an instant hit. Today, 25% of all the cookies baked in the United States are chocolate chip! To celebrate National Chocolate Chip Day, pick up a bag of chocolate chips at the supermarket and bake something yummy to share with friends and cowor
