Wacky Wednesday...

Sometimes for school I announce "It's Wacky Wednesday today"...and we do some things that we normally would not consider our "school time" (or at least the kids don't know it's part of school..shhh).  So today it was Wacky Wednesday.

My son was putting together a new game he received as a Christmas Gift - Mouse Trap. However you have to "put it together' yourself. It requires reading the directions, putting pieces together, setting up and explaining the game to others all of which he did without 1 time needing my direction!   We played for about 45 mins (he won of course...) then we had some "traditional" school work to do....they loved it and announced "You are the best mom in the world..." (well if that is all it takes to win that award, I will be winning it more often...lol...)

Here is what Sammie was doing.....

Then we finished up our Spring unit with a cute story from Highlights...

Thought it was appropriate for our weather last week...lol

Zachary read out loud to us these two cute books.

He loves him some "Magic Tree House" books....lol.

Gearing up to link up tomorrow to The Homeschool Village - Gardening Challenge!

National Chocolate Chip Day

May 15, 2012 is National Chocolate Chip Day Today is National Chocolate Chip Day! Chocolate chips are an essential ingredient in dozens of delicious baked goods—chocolate chip cookies, chocolate chip pancakes, chocolate chip muffins, chocolate chip brownies, chocolate chip bagels, and many more. You can even find chili recipes that call for these sweet morsels! In the 1930s, Ruth Graves Wakefield created the original chocolate chip cookie at her Toll House Inn in Whitman, Massachusetts. Ruth intended to bake chocolate cookies for her guests, but she ran out of baker’s chocolate. She substituted with chopped up semi-sweet chocolate morsels and discovered that the pieces did not melt into the dough as she expected. Her cookies were an instant hit. Today, 25% of all the cookies baked in the United States are chocolate chip! To celebrate National Chocolate Chip Day, pick up a bag of chocolate chips at the supermarket and bake something yummy to share with friends and cowor
