Outdoor Fun

Last night we had a chance to get back out after dinner for a bit. The girls and I made this....

This morning we were out early and ran our errands!  Came home and played out all morning....

Make a simple bubble blower with a plastic water bottle, cutting off the big end about 2 inches from
the bottom. Take a wash cloth and put over the end of it you just cut, wrap a rubber band
around it so the cloth stays in place. Take a dish with some water in it.
Put some dish soap at the end of your washcloth and dip into the water...

blow!  watch the magic...KIDS LOVE IT!

Time for Ice Pop Break...

Little Water Gun action....

Ok time for lunch then school.....enjoy the day everyone!

I really like that plastic bottle bubble contraption you made. I've never seen that before. I'll have to remember that to try it out myself.

Hi Melis, what a fun morning eveyone had! We had a cold, windy and rainy morning here in the midwest. I can't wait until we can wear shorts and play with water outside!

National Chocolate Chip Day

May 15, 2012 is National Chocolate Chip Day Today is National Chocolate Chip Day! Chocolate chips are an essential ingredient in dozens of delicious baked goods—chocolate chip cookies, chocolate chip pancakes, chocolate chip muffins, chocolate chip brownies, chocolate chip bagels, and many more. You can even find chili recipes that call for these sweet morsels! In the 1930s, Ruth Graves Wakefield created the original chocolate chip cookie at her Toll House Inn in Whitman, Massachusetts. Ruth intended to bake chocolate cookies for her guests, but she ran out of baker’s chocolate. She substituted with chopped up semi-sweet chocolate morsels and discovered that the pieces did not melt into the dough as she expected. Her cookies were an instant hit. Today, 25% of all the cookies baked in the United States are chocolate chip! To celebrate National Chocolate Chip Day, pick up a bag of chocolate chips at the supermarket and bake something yummy to share with friends and cowor
