Happy Friday and a Giveaway!

Last night I hosted a Moms Night In.  It was extremely hot here yesterday and I originally had planned on having the gathering on our shaded patio....however, some storms blew thru a few hours before "go time" so I moved it all inside to the family room!  We had  a blast...played games....danced....sang....joked....gal talk....all in all, no one got hurt..I pray the ladies were all blessed by the night!

(see bottom for the giveaway)

I made homemade body scrub salts for the ladies.
(Kosher salt, olive oil, Jasmine scented essential oil)

Favors (boxes are from Garnish)

Had to move the party inside...

Black bean salsa (always a big hit)....

Great new recipe from the blog Family Spice..avocado hummus

Mini Cupcakes with chocolate abstracts. (little cups are from Garnish)

Some mocktails (Crystal Lite & Cranberry Juice with fresh fruit)
...cute little mason jar glasses with lids (I originally saw these cute glasses in a Rachael Ray Magazine...ordered them...but forgot the vendor, when I find out, I will post) Straws are from Garnish.

What we ate....

The ladies....

The ladies.....One friend had already left before the group shot...

The link is now up. It disappeared when I had to edit the post this morning.
I liked you on fb. Am I eligible in the UK? I do hope so. Wow, what an awesome array of food - I could use some hints. My best Mum's night out would be to have someone come to our house and do pedicures for all our tired feet, and some longed for adult conversation.

Wow! Wish I was your buddy! Looks like a fantastic party! Bet you could make those mason jar glasses yourself with a drill (maybe I will!) Thanks for sharing!

National Chocolate Chip Day

May 15, 2012 is National Chocolate Chip Day Today is National Chocolate Chip Day! Chocolate chips are an essential ingredient in dozens of delicious baked goods—chocolate chip cookies, chocolate chip pancakes, chocolate chip muffins, chocolate chip brownies, chocolate chip bagels, and many more. You can even find chili recipes that call for these sweet morsels! In the 1930s, Ruth Graves Wakefield created the original chocolate chip cookie at her Toll House Inn in Whitman, Massachusetts. Ruth intended to bake chocolate cookies for her guests, but she ran out of baker’s chocolate. She substituted with chopped up semi-sweet chocolate morsels and discovered that the pieces did not melt into the dough as she expected. Her cookies were an instant hit. Today, 25% of all the cookies baked in the United States are chocolate chip! To celebrate National Chocolate Chip Day, pick up a bag of chocolate chips at the supermarket and bake something yummy to share with friends and cowor
