What I absolutely love about autumn is everything! I love the changing colors, bright & beautiful oranges, yellows, and reds. The crisp cool air blowing all the leaves off the trees leaving warm colors scattered about. It's simply beautiful.

Every year we go apple picking as a family. I love taking pics of my girlies up in the trees and watching them enjoy themselves. There is a wonderful orchard we go to that sells the best cider & maple doughnuts. Once we're all done we have enough apples to last all winter. The girls & I make TONS of applesauce mixed up with different fruits. Then we freeze what we can for pies, breads, & cobblers. This is a great family tradition that is eagerly anticipated all year long :)
I love fall. I missed it tremendously when we lived overseas in the tropics. I missed the trees set on fire with brilliant reds, oranges, and yellows. I missed the crispness of the air.
I feel like I missed out on fall last year. I fear I may "miss it" again as we are focused on trying to move right in the middle of all the fun that happens each fall.
My extra for this giveaway... my favorite family thing to do in the fall is HIKE!!!

Living in the northeast, we have the most beautiful leaves-as they change color!

Our fall family tradition is taking a trip to the cider mill for doughnuts, cider, and caramel apples. Then we walk through these trails to look at the changing leaves.

I am lucky enough to live in New England. I don't there's anything about Fall that I don't love. I love the crispness in the air, I love warm apple cider, I love wearing hoodies, I love the crunch of leaves beneath my feet, I especially love the bright colors in the trees. Oh how I adore fall! I live in the country in Kentucky and we are SURROUNDED by trees of all different kinds--and they are almost all deciduous so the color display is AMAZING every fall!

but I also love the cooler weather because I get to wear my favorite clothes (jeans and hoodies!) and put my little boys in overalls!
Fall is also my favorite season because it brings with it our annual holy festival season! For 10 days we get to be away from home drinking in God's word EVERY DAY and celebrating it with hundreds of like minded Christians! My husband is off work, my family flies in from the west coast to attend with us. What's not to love about that???

I love Fall, when the temperatures drop and the squirrels start gathering acorns.

Every year, when the temperatures drop, we start venturing out to the National Parks. PS students are back in school, and the parks are less crowded.

Gosh...there are too many things to list that I love about fall. After a long hot summer, I love the temps, I love the fall smells. The smell of wood burning stoves, hot apple cidar, pumpkin anything. I love getting our long sleeves again to wear, and I love love love all the colors!

I love several things about fall: the cooler weather, the changing colors of leaves, and the smell of apple cinnamon scents (which make a comeback each fall).

National Chocolate Chip Day

May 15, 2012 is National Chocolate Chip Day Today is National Chocolate Chip Day! Chocolate chips are an essential ingredient in dozens of delicious baked goods—chocolate chip cookies, chocolate chip pancakes, chocolate chip muffins, chocolate chip brownies, chocolate chip bagels, and many more. You can even find chili recipes that call for these sweet morsels! In the 1930s, Ruth Graves Wakefield created the original chocolate chip cookie at her Toll House Inn in Whitman, Massachusetts. Ruth intended to bake chocolate cookies for her guests, but she ran out of baker’s chocolate. She substituted with chopped up semi-sweet chocolate morsels and discovered that the pieces did not melt into the dough as she expected. Her cookies were an instant hit. Today, 25% of all the cookies baked in the United States are chocolate chip! To celebrate National Chocolate Chip Day, pick up a bag of chocolate chips at the supermarket and bake something yummy to share with friends and cowor
