We do these with the kisses at xmas time and use green and red m&m's... they really are yummy and add an extra layer to any cookie display!!
Hi Melissa! I make these all the time at Christmas with green and red MandMs and then at Valentines with red, white and pink and then at Easter with the pastel MandMs. I also have used the multi colored ones for any time of year goody. Are't they so easy, fun, and yummy!??!
I put mine in the oven at 350 degrees for just 2 minutes, just until the kisses are softened and "glistening/wet looking". I found that if I put the kisses in the oven too long the chocolate doesn't melt but the moisture is sucked out of the kisses and makes the chocolate harder/crumble. I've been making these pretzel treats for several years now and they are always a hit! Anyway, here's my post about our pretzel treats from last Christmas with pics if you want to check them out :) http://asliceofsmithlife.blogspot.com/2010/12/bua-bark-and-sweet-pretzel-treats-for.html

National Chocolate Chip Day

May 15, 2012 is National Chocolate Chip Day Today is National Chocolate Chip Day! Chocolate chips are an essential ingredient in dozens of delicious baked goods—chocolate chip cookies, chocolate chip pancakes, chocolate chip muffins, chocolate chip brownies, chocolate chip bagels, and many more. You can even find chili recipes that call for these sweet morsels! In the 1930s, Ruth Graves Wakefield created the original chocolate chip cookie at her Toll House Inn in Whitman, Massachusetts. Ruth intended to bake chocolate cookies for her guests, but she ran out of baker’s chocolate. She substituted with chopped up semi-sweet chocolate morsels and discovered that the pieces did not melt into the dough as she expected. Her cookies were an instant hit. Today, 25% of all the cookies baked in the United States are chocolate chip! To celebrate National Chocolate Chip Day, pick up a bag of chocolate chips at the supermarket and bake something yummy to share with friends and cowor
