Feeling Loved and Honored today

Many of you might have noticed that button about 1/3rd of the way down my right sidebar, the big one telling you about The Homeschool Post and their 7th Annual Homeschool Blog Awards. Well if you didn't, they are going on now. Nominations were accepted a few weeks ago but the voting has begun. I went over today to put my vote in (in the past I have nominated my blog in a few areas, but this year felt lead by the Lord not to)  Low and behold, I get to the "Best Homeschool Methods" category and there we were The Joys of Home Educating!  Someone, unknown to me, nominated us!  I am honored that others feel we have awesome homeschool methods!

We are number 19 on THIS LIST and would love it if you felt lead to vote for us!

I encourage you to pray about this voting and vote in all the categories. So many worthy
blogs out there and committed homeschoolers!

I will proudly put the button on the right sidebar and wear it with a badge of honor.

Thank you to whomever felt strongly enough to nominate us!

Thank you to everyone who has or will vote for us.

National Chocolate Chip Day

May 15, 2012 is National Chocolate Chip Day Today is National Chocolate Chip Day! Chocolate chips are an essential ingredient in dozens of delicious baked goods—chocolate chip cookies, chocolate chip pancakes, chocolate chip muffins, chocolate chip brownies, chocolate chip bagels, and many more. You can even find chili recipes that call for these sweet morsels! In the 1930s, Ruth Graves Wakefield created the original chocolate chip cookie at her Toll House Inn in Whitman, Massachusetts. Ruth intended to bake chocolate cookies for her guests, but she ran out of baker’s chocolate. She substituted with chopped up semi-sweet chocolate morsels and discovered that the pieces did not melt into the dough as she expected. Her cookies were an instant hit. Today, 25% of all the cookies baked in the United States are chocolate chip! To celebrate National Chocolate Chip Day, pick up a bag of chocolate chips at the supermarket and bake something yummy to share with friends and cowor
