Christmas in Candyland Party

Each year a small group of moms and their children get together for the children to exchange new books with each other.  This year I hosted and the theme was Christmas in Candyland.

Printables were purchased from the amazing Amanda at Shindig Parties to Go!

Straws and straw flags were purchased from Pick You Plum

Suitcase was from Sweet Shop LuLu

Goodie boxes, plates, some candy and sticker craft was from Oriental Trading

Goodie boxes with all the treats they filled them with.
(inside these cute boxes were already tatoos, crazy straws, cookie pops)

Our newly renovated kitchen (see prior post here)

Coloring craft and some sticker gingerbread house crafts for
the kids.

Oh my, Juniors Cheesecake I got for Christmas, opened today
to share with all!

We sang Jingle Bells before we opened the gifts (books)

Started Youngest to oldest to go pick out a book from under the tree.

Dessert time!

Some freeze dance and instrument fun!

Clean up time!

National Chocolate Chip Day

May 15, 2012 is National Chocolate Chip Day Today is National Chocolate Chip Day! Chocolate chips are an essential ingredient in dozens of delicious baked goods—chocolate chip cookies, chocolate chip pancakes, chocolate chip muffins, chocolate chip brownies, chocolate chip bagels, and many more. You can even find chili recipes that call for these sweet morsels! In the 1930s, Ruth Graves Wakefield created the original chocolate chip cookie at her Toll House Inn in Whitman, Massachusetts. Ruth intended to bake chocolate cookies for her guests, but she ran out of baker’s chocolate. She substituted with chopped up semi-sweet chocolate morsels and discovered that the pieces did not melt into the dough as she expected. Her cookies were an instant hit. Today, 25% of all the cookies baked in the United States are chocolate chip! To celebrate National Chocolate Chip Day, pick up a bag of chocolate chips at the supermarket and bake something yummy to share with friends and cowor
