The King's Christmas List

If this book is not part of your "library", I would suggest you put it on your list for Santa! We heard about it last year and ran out and bought it. It's now a tradition in our home. Such a great story, I even get a little choked up reading it at certain parts!

After school we finally got a chance to watch The Grinch on the DVR.

The kids all received the Grinch flannel sheets from their Bubby a

month ago so we HAD to get the pillows out to watch!

I will have to check out the book! We have watched it a couple of times this year.. but tomorrow we are having a movie marathon (The Grinch and St. Nicholas) tomorrow with some friends :-)

National Chocolate Chip Day

May 15, 2012 is National Chocolate Chip Day Today is National Chocolate Chip Day! Chocolate chips are an essential ingredient in dozens of delicious baked goods—chocolate chip cookies, chocolate chip pancakes, chocolate chip muffins, chocolate chip brownies, chocolate chip bagels, and many more. You can even find chili recipes that call for these sweet morsels! In the 1930s, Ruth Graves Wakefield created the original chocolate chip cookie at her Toll House Inn in Whitman, Massachusetts. Ruth intended to bake chocolate cookies for her guests, but she ran out of baker’s chocolate. She substituted with chopped up semi-sweet chocolate morsels and discovered that the pieces did not melt into the dough as she expected. Her cookies were an instant hit. Today, 25% of all the cookies baked in the United States are chocolate chip!
