Poinsettias and Mexico

We are continuing our Christmas Around the World unit and still in Mexico learning all about the Poinsettia Plant and it's Mexican History.   Although I have read a few versions of this story the ending seems to be the same 8)

Some other Christmas Fun.....

Molly has been sick for weeks now and finally diagnosed with Pneumonia 8(  While her cough sounds horrible she is not showing much signs of slowing down (trying to have her rest as much as possible)  Our church has a wonderful program called MAD (Making A Difference) and they dropped this gift bag for her today to cheer her up 8)  She loves it. Thanks MAD!

Tomorrow will be Christmas Eve in Mexico in our home and we will be making Pinatas and decorating!

Have a wonderful day and Be Blessed!

National Chocolate Chip Day

May 15, 2012 is National Chocolate Chip Day Today is National Chocolate Chip Day! Chocolate chips are an essential ingredient in dozens of delicious baked goods—chocolate chip cookies, chocolate chip pancakes, chocolate chip muffins, chocolate chip brownies, chocolate chip bagels, and many more. You can even find chili recipes that call for these sweet morsels! In the 1930s, Ruth Graves Wakefield created the original chocolate chip cookie at her Toll House Inn in Whitman, Massachusetts. Ruth intended to bake chocolate cookies for her guests, but she ran out of baker’s chocolate. She substituted with chopped up semi-sweet chocolate morsels and discovered that the pieces did not melt into the dough as she expected. Her cookies were an instant hit. Today, 25% of all the cookies baked in the United States are chocolate chip! To celebrate National Chocolate Chip Day, pick up a bag of chocolate chips at the supermarket and bake something yummy to share with friends and cowor
