Whether the weather.....It's Weather Wednesday

Happy Wednesday  - middle of the school week - we are in the thick of it...cloud thickness that is..lol...a new theme for Wednesdays in April...

Weather Wednesday

Whether the weather be fine,
Or whether the weather be not,
Whether the weather be cold,
Or whether the weather be hot,
We'll weather the weather
Whatever the weather,
Whether we like it or not!

(you can find HERE to print out for your school)

I found this book at one of our local Used Book Sale at our local library for $ 1.00  FULL of great weather pictures from around the world.

Learning about the Water Cycle (goes great with our unit on Earth Day in a few weeks!)

Our Science Experiment - Cloud Making 101

You can find this experiment and an entire 40 page FREE Weather Unit at 123homeschoolforme.com (Beth rocks the homeschool world)

Cloud Art for Preschoolers
Have the children draw clouds on a blue piece of paper and fill them in with cotton puffs.

Weather - Music

After we sung this I asked the children - "What would you like to fall from the sky?" - Zachary said Root Beer, Molly said M & M's and Sammie said Mac and Cheese  - thinking we will be watching Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs this week!

This is our Memory Song for the week. (Scholastic)

Our Read out Loud - Frog Rain
(it does, sort of - in Puerto Rico)

Early in the morning, tiny one-inch frogs called coquis jump from the trees and fall to the
ground with a plop, plop.

(Ladybug Magazine April 2013)

This week has all been about clouds, rain and the water cycle. Next week - extreme weather and a fun time with gardening.

Don't forget to check back on Friday and join me in Collage Friday over at Homegrown Learners!

Until then  - Be Blessed!

Thank you for sharing this! I am going to try to find this book for Grace. She has a collection of weather books and this would be a great addition!

National Chocolate Chip Day

May 15, 2012 is National Chocolate Chip Day Today is National Chocolate Chip Day! Chocolate chips are an essential ingredient in dozens of delicious baked goods—chocolate chip cookies, chocolate chip pancakes, chocolate chip muffins, chocolate chip brownies, chocolate chip bagels, and many more. You can even find chili recipes that call for these sweet morsels! In the 1930s, Ruth Graves Wakefield created the original chocolate chip cookie at her Toll House Inn in Whitman, Massachusetts. Ruth intended to bake chocolate cookies for her guests, but she ran out of baker’s chocolate. She substituted with chopped up semi-sweet chocolate morsels and discovered that the pieces did not melt into the dough as she expected. Her cookies were an instant hit. Today, 25% of all the cookies baked in the United States are chocolate chip! To celebrate National Chocolate Chip Day, pick up a bag of chocolate chips at the supermarket and bake something yummy to share with friends and cowor
