Collage Friday

Happy New Year!

It's been a few weeks since I have linked up over at Homegrown Learners for Collage Friday.  We have been off of school for 2 weeks now but ready to get back to our routine on Monday!

Here is a little of what has been happening!

Christmas Morning - the children were very happy with the gifts they received. I was happy they were limited amount of gifts.

Some DIY Homemade gifts and decor I made this season.  I love crafting with Washi Tape and it's so versatile!

We hosted a little Polar Express and PJ's Playdate a few days before Christmas with a few other homeschool girls. They all had a wonderful time!

We went to a friends house for a few hours on New Years and then came home to ring in the 2014 as a family.  Much to my surprise, we all stayed up!

In case you missed our Goals for the year you can see them HERE.  (some links to some Pinterest pages you might be interested in following for the upcoming holidays!)

Saving The BEST for last - I am praying for those of you who have decided to join our family in our No Spending Challenge for January!

If you have NO idea what I am talking about, I encourage you to read my post from Wednesday HERE.  I know you will be blessed by it!

Enjoy the weekend - we are snowed it and loving it!

Be Blessed

What a wonderful break you all had. I love the idea of your challenge. We don't have much to spend past the essentials (no cable, Iphones or other luxurious), but I will be thinking about each purchase over the next month and will join in if I find we are cutting more corners.
Blessings, Dawn

I smiled at your enjoyment of limited presents. This is the first year that my parents and in-laws have ever limited themselves to just a few things for each child and it was blissful.

The pictures are wonderful and it looks like you had a fun Christmas break. We have done quite a bit of purging since Christmas and I'm hoping to not purchase so many things this year, or at least make them worth their space.

National Chocolate Chip Day

May 15, 2012 is National Chocolate Chip Day Today is National Chocolate Chip Day! Chocolate chips are an essential ingredient in dozens of delicious baked goods—chocolate chip cookies, chocolate chip pancakes, chocolate chip muffins, chocolate chip brownies, chocolate chip bagels, and many more. You can even find chili recipes that call for these sweet morsels! In the 1930s, Ruth Graves Wakefield created the original chocolate chip cookie at her Toll House Inn in Whitman, Massachusetts. Ruth intended to bake chocolate cookies for her guests, but she ran out of baker’s chocolate. She substituted with chopped up semi-sweet chocolate morsels and discovered that the pieces did not melt into the dough as she expected. Her cookies were an instant hit. Today, 25% of all the cookies baked in the United States are chocolate chip! To celebrate National Chocolate Chip Day, pick up a bag of chocolate chips at the supermarket and bake something yummy to share with friends and cowor
