Farmhouse Friday - Curriculum Review

Welcome friends to a special Farmhouse Friday today.  I am excited to share a curriculum that I found that is fun and educational! This is not a new curriculum, but new to our homeschool.  Years ago, my sister in law passed on some school books and magazines that her son was no longer using and in the pile was was a few items from Highlights . They sat on a shelf for a while, until recently, and collected dust.  I finally got around to pulling some of it out and what I found was a gem!  There was this folder that said secret mission. I opened it and found a fun game/activity that I knew the girls would love.  After they completed it, I knew I had to look into ordering more for them.  Are you familiar with Highlights ?  I am sure you are.  We have used their magazines in our homeschool for years but never their adventure kits.  (in their own words..) For more than 70 years Highlights has been dedica...

Farmhouse Friday

Welcome to Farmhouse Friday here at Woodwater Farmhouse. Glad you stopped by.  I am sharing some highlights from the last few weeks.  I turned 50 in late February and celebrated with my BFF and her boys, They came down for the weekend (2.5 hr drive) and we had a blast, as we always do! It was also two of her boys' birthdays!  Triple threat!  The weather has been up and down. One day nice and we get out and hike and the next 2 feet of snow. We take advantage of it when we can.  Molly has been crafting a lot and making these beautiful paper flowers. I finished my first book of the new year!!! Which is a big deal since in 2017 I never finished one 8(   I have the next one on order from the same author.  Kids finally got to go skiing with my hubby and last weekend. WIN!   My oldest and his family here for the night, since they lost power.  Always a treat when I can spend time with them....

Farmhouse Friday - January

Hi friends, it's been a LONG time since I have posted a Farmhouse Friday. Mostly because in January we are doing a No Spend January and I have been posting on Mondays. My last post for that will be Monday the 29th and Farmhouse Fridays will be back!!!  Now on to what we have been up to..... The girls and I went on a girls day out.  Taking in a movie ($ 5 Tuedays at our AMC if you are STUBS member) and going to Starbucks for hot cocoa and snacks!  We used gift cards for it all!!! (NO SPEND!) I HIGHLY RECOMMEND The Greatest Showman!   School has been great. If you missed my review of the Reading 3A from BJU Press, you can catch up on it here .  Molly has been working hard on her 5th grade curriculum. Zachary has been super busy with middle school. I am looking into an online high school for him for next year.  I had my monthly luncheon with a great friend this week. We switch on and off hosting.  Keeping ...

Farmhouse Friday

It was a busy weekend last weekend and quick week, it seemed, this week. We were busy with Christmas  happenings !  Started our Advent - Unwrapping the Greatest Gift...had friends over at the farmhouse and chopped down our last and final tree for the living room!   Local tree farm...any tree...you pick, you chop...friends met up with us...fun traditions!  USMC Toys for Tots - Santa came in on the train to our town. Kids enjoyed hot cocoa, playing with friends and of course, dropping off our toys for those in need. Farmhouse was filled with our BFF's last weekend. Cooking, baking, decorating, concerts, joyful noise...loved it all!  This weekend and up until New Years is just as busy, but it's a good busy!  Blessings to you all and enjoy the weekend!   We might be getting some snow!! linking up to: Weird Unsocialized Homeschooler This post may contain affiliate or sponsor links. Ok so it's not FRIDAY Yet...but I have some exciting things to share with you.... I am so excited about Christmas this year. Maybe because we are NOT doing a lot of actual gifts. But rather more "experiences" this year.  I can't yet tell you about them, as my kids might read my blog...but rest assured they are great!  IN case you missed it on Make It Monday - here is a link to that post about making your own Natural Wreaths!  I wanted to give you some other wonderful ideas from some of the affiliates that I represent and other companies that I believe in!
