Make It Monday - Cool Maker - Tidy Dye Station - Honest Review

Welcome to another Make It Monday !   Where I bring you some totally awesome crafts!  Today's craft is fun for all ages and easy clean up (which I LOVE)! Let's tie dye the stylish way, shall we.   This ain't your mama's tie dye art my friends. This is a new way!  It is from Spin Master   ( coolmaker.com ) and it's called Tidy Dye Station.  Cool Maker gives you all the tools needed to make amazing creations without the mess of traditional tie dye.  There are how-to-videos , blogs and website content to inspire your next creation.  This kit contained two projects:  a headband and a tote bag.   You are free to create your own design or use the suggested ones in the booklet.  Everything that was suppose to be in the kit was there. The only "ingredient" we needed to provide was water.  The instructions were fairly easy to read. After reading through the section...

Make it Monday: Farmhouse Natural Wreath

Hi all and WELCOME to another Make It Monday! Today I am sharing a quick tutorial with you that anyone can make!  Using elements from our own property and a little time, I created a few outdoor, natural decorations for the farmhouse.  What you will need to make these wreaths: Flexible branches Thin floral wire Cutting shears Wreath base (can be anything round - grape vine, wire etc) First step:  take some time to venture out. Maybe it's a drive down the road; maybe it's in your own backyard. Find some greens that you like. I am using juniper today. Two different kinds. Just because that is what we have in abundance here at the farmhouse.  I had a few grapevine wreaths hanging around that I purchased at a craft store. Sometimes even the dollar store has them.  Do you see how these grapevine wreaths have some vines holding them together?  That is the key to using these wreaths.  I used those anchoring vines ...

Make it Monday - Clothespin Pals

Happy Monday everyone.  The eve of Valentine's Day!  Also the eve of our dog, Lilly's, first birthday! We have had her since October 1st of 2016 and still are so very happy with her.  Today I am bringing you another Make it Monday .   The craft today is easy and you might even have the supplies in your craft bin as I type this! Supplies you will need:  glue, clothespins, scissors, a fine tip marker, felt and needle with thread.  You first want to cut out a small square piece of felt for your hat.  Then make a rounded cut on the bottom of the square. This will help you shape the cone hat for your pal.  After that, carefully sew the hat together. I tried gluing but it did not hold. Felt does not hold well with school glue.  After you made the hat (I made a little cuff on mine as you can see just folding it up) , next you draw the little face on him and you can also cut out a scarf for your pal.  If you ...

Make It Monday - Christmas Crafting with the Cameo

A few years ago I received the Silhouette machine as a gift from my mother and my life has never been the same. ..hehe..ok maybe I am exaggerating a bit, but honestly, this machine is the bomb. I found these enamel cups at an antique shop but you can use paper cups also.  By themselves they are so cute, but I knew they could be even cuter with a little help. Using my Cameo and some vinyl.... I transformed these cute cups into fun whimsy cocoa bar cups, for the children, for the holidays.  Here is what I did - I bought the images from the Silhouette store  (usually .50 to a 1.00 per image but then you own them forever) and cut onto vinyl.  Stick to the cups and there you have it.  (not dishwasher safe) They turned out so cute, don't you think?  Pair them up with some help-yourself cocoa, marshmallows and cookies and you have the perfect Night Before Christmas cocoa bar for the kiddos.  Maybe even a peppermint...

Crafting Tuesday - Halloween Soaps

Not only is this a fun craft that the kids can get involved but it doubles as Science class also!  We went to the local Dollar Tree and bought the silicone molds (they are really ice cub molds but worked great ). We went to Michael's and got the glycieron chunk and colors.  It was easy to do. Melting it took less than a minute, added the coloring, poured and waited for them to be hard ( 40 mins or so) . Popped them out and there you have it. We did not do scents this time, but will next time. They are cute and will be a great addition to the bathroom counter! We had some extra and poured that into silicone cupcake holders and made bigger soaps for the grandmas for a little gift when we see them! You could do any holiday, theme etc...sooo easy! Spring Craft - Picture Easel

Spring Crafting: Washi Picture Easels Getting my DIY Craft on for Spring! I found these adorable  unfinished  clipboards at A.C. Moore crafts.  Not only are they clipboards, but they have a spot in the back to insert the dowel  (came with it) to allow it to stand up on a desk or table!  Also there is a spot to hang it on the back too!  THEY WERE ONLY A $1.00! Marrying it up with some Spring Washi Tape was the PERFECT little gift.  NOTE: You will need to unscrew the hardware in order to put the last pieces of Washi Tape on the clipboard for a finished look. Easy peasy! HOW Cute did this turn out!  The grandmas will most likely attach a picture of the grandkids! Great for the desks. They can change out the pictures or put notes, grocery lists or anything on the clip.  In my craft stash, I found some cute wooden squares, added a sticky magnet to it and there you go, just the finishing touch it needed! ...
