Make It Monday: Thanksgiving Craft: Ball of Yarn Turkey

Thanksgiving Craft: Ball of Yarn Turkey This fun turkey craft will allow kids to express their thanks for many things we all take for granted, and learn some scriptures verses while having fun! Material Needed (for each turkey): • One 9-inch polystyrene ball (available at craft shops) • Dark brown yarn—lots! • One 4-inch polystyrene ball • Light brown yarn—lots! • White felt, black felt, yellow felt, red felt. • Crayons • Bond paper in different colors • Elmer’s Glue • Disposable paint brushes • Tooth picks blunt on one end • Steak knife • scissors Preparation: It will save time to cut out the leaves for the kids. What a Week....

It's mid-week and both girls are sick.  Molly needed antibiotics and both girls have croup 8(   It makes for long days, longer nights and school is piece mealed together ( yes they still want to "do" school)   Next week is Thanksgiving and also I am hosting a Princess Party (thanks to Disney Jr and Houseparty.com) on Wednesday.  I am on the fence but think we are taking next week off.  Oh the Joys of Home Educating - love the benefit of being flexible.   What's your schedule for next week looking like?    Looking to get the kids together to make a Thankful List since we did not get a chance to make our Thankful Tree this year (thanks Sandy).  Well off to make dinner... be Blessed!

SNOW DAY!

After Hurricane Sandy blew through, we had a Nor Easter start yesterday - with that came bout 6 inches of snow here at the house.  Love the 1st snow fall of the year!  We did minimal textbook school and went out and had a blast in the snow for a bit.  Then we came in and baked (math lesson) and listened to Christmas music.  They are predicting 60's on Sunday 8(   But for today - It's A Snow Day! We started our Thanksgiving teachings today with a Scholastic and some fun books.  Hope you are all having a wonderful day and that you ALL have power back!
