No Spend January

Happy 2018 everyone!  Something our family has participated in before is the January No Spend Challenge .  We are going for it again this year! #NoSpendChallenge We start by praying about it. Praying that God will help  me  with the temptations of the 80% off Christmas decor that I could use for next year, praying that our children will embrace the challenge and not ask for delivery pizza each week, pray that we find ourselves content with what we DO have and not idolize those things.   Here's the 411 on how it goes.... 1.   No spending on NON-essential items Example of essential items are : food, gas, tithing to the church, medical expenses, bills committed too on a monthly basis. Family NYE Party On a Budget

#KidsNYE For the last three years, we have made a decision to ring in the new year as a family.  Okay maybe that means that they all wake me up at 11:50 pm for 11 minutes then I crawl into my bed.  However it plays out, we do it as a family.  The night consists of snacking, video games, board games and some silly dancing.  I don't go overboard (for me that's a statement) but do enough to make it feel special.  My go to place is our local Dollar Tree (not a sponsored post, just love our Dollar Tree) . A few years ago they came to town and they are here to stay. I love the assortment of party items.  Giving myself a budget of $ 10 was easy to make all the magic happen.  These cute cardboard hats are perfect for the children.   I embellished, adding the 2015 with my Silhouette Cameo (black vinyl). Happy New Year my friends .  2014 will be full of challenges, triumphs, defeats, joy, sadness and many other things.  If you BELIEVE , it's easier to walk the path.   Be Blessed and I can't wait to share the journey with you all in 2014!
