Living on a budget & the Dollar Tree FINDS of the day!

We like to check out our local Dollar Tree a few times a month. Today we went and found a TON of national brands for $ 1 each. Check out the pictures...what national brands can you see? Living on a budget is so important to us. Living within our means and not using credit cards is something we pride ourselves in. As much as I can I save a dollar here and a dollar there. Homeschooling, as all of the HS parents know, can add to the budget...with supplies, books, field trips etc...so it's my "job" to control the spending on food and household items.

Some of the National brands included: Packing Tape by 3M, Renuzit Air Fresheners, Yoohoo, Palmolive dish washing liquid, Campbells Cream of Mushroom soup, Snuggle dryer sheets 20 count, DelMonte Sauce, Puffs tissues, Disney painting kit...other things i bough were fairy wings, three muffin tins (going to get on that Muffin Tin Lunch bandwagon), ribbon and more....

What do you do to help the budget?

Hi there and thanks for stopping by our blog.I think that is neat that your kids range from 21 to under.I have always worried if we were to have another kid that the age is a big difference, but hubby says don't worry about that.I will be following your blog now.

I had to comment on this one. The Dollar Tree is my 10m year old's idea of heaven on earth. This kid is beyond frugal. She actually plans her trips there on the Dollar Tree Website!!

Collage Friday and a Video

We have had a good week here in NY. The snow is melting and the signs of spring are everywhere!  I am ready for the light coat and to put away my Uggs for the season.   Zachary worked on the Women and Children of the Revolutionary War - and some fun Scholastic - Super Science!  He is always working on his IPAD playing Scrabble, Words with Friends, Monopoly, Stack the States and Stack the Countries. The girls and I talked about what is happening outside with the plants and animals. Waking up!  Sammie also enjoyed this Sofia the First Unit. We had so much fun making our Chocolate Volcano Cakes from our Raddish box this week.   Of course some Spring crafting was in order. We made these easy cupcake paper and button flowers pictures. Also using some kitchen sponges (for stamping)  from dollar store to make these beautiful spring cards.  Thursday Science - again going to our Raddish box and finding a cool experiment. ...
