Valentine Frog Craft & a Casserole

So as a lot of you know, we have been crafting all week in school!  Making all kinds of animals out of hearts. I think today's is the best yet!

I used green foam sheets just because i had a bunch.  1 large heart for the body, two equally sized smaller ones for the feet, 1 medium heart for the head and 1 heard cut in half for the legs.  Stuff for eyes and a heart for his heart!

Glued them with Elmers glue stick

Wala....I made a pond for them to sit in, a few lilly pads etc....the sign says..."Welcome to Lilly Pad Lake"..

This will work out great with our themed Froggy Valentine's Day Party on Monday!

Hope you have liked our crafts so far this week!

I also wanted to share this great casserole with you all!  This recipe was given to us from a friend who made it while I was recovering from a CSection. You can use left over ham, chicken, veggies, pretty much anything you want to....

Pasta Pie:

1 cup sour cream
1 cup shredded cheddar
2 cups favorite cooked pasta
2 cups of your favorite meat (we love it with ham)
1 can of you favorite veggie (we love it with peas)
1 can of cream of chicken (or celery) soup

Combine everything but the pasta together....then add the cooked pasta (I usually put a few tablespoons of the pasta water in there too).

For some extra crunch, I add breadcrumbs to the top before baking....bake at 350 for about 30 mins....this is sooo gooey and great on a cold day!   It also heats up well for left overs!

Enjoy!

National Chocolate Chip Day

May 15, 2012 is National Chocolate Chip Day Today is National Chocolate Chip Day! Chocolate chips are an essential ingredient in dozens of delicious baked goodsā€”chocolate chip cookies, chocolate chip pancakes, chocolate chip muffins, chocolate chip brownies, chocolate chip bagels, and many more. You can even find chili recipes that call for these sweet morsels! In the 1930s, Ruth Graves Wakefield created the original chocolate chip cookie at her Toll House Inn in Whitman, Massachusetts. Ruth intended to bake chocolate cookies for her guests, but she ran out of bakerā€™s chocolate. She substituted with chopped up semi-sweet chocolate morsels and discovered that the pieces did not melt into the dough as she expected. Her cookies were an instant hit. Today, 25% of all the cookies baked in the United States are chocolate chip! To celebrate National Chocolate Chip Day, pick up a bag of chocolate chips at the supermarket and bake something yummy to share with friends and cowor...

Collage Friday and a Video

We have had a good week here in NY. The snow is melting and the signs of spring are everywhere!  I am ready for the light coat and to put away my Uggs for the season.   Zachary worked on the Women and Children of the Revolutionary War - and some fun Scholastic - Super Science!  He is always working on his IPAD playing Scrabble, Words with Friends, Monopoly, Stack the States and Stack the Countries. The girls and I talked about what is happening outside with the plants and animals. Waking up!  Sammie also enjoyed this Sofia the First Unit. We had so much fun making our Chocolate Volcano Cakes from our Raddish box this week.   Of course some Spring crafting was in order. We made these easy cupcake paper and button flowers pictures. Also using some kitchen sponges (for stamping)  from dollar store to make these beautiful spring cards.  Thursday Science - again going to our Raddish box and finding a cool experiment. ...
