Collage Friday

Everytime I write this Collage Friday post I just can't believe another 7 days has been wiped off the calendar.   If you are not familiar with Collage Friday over at Homegrown Learners - please check it out. It is full of information, fellowship and oh so much fun!

Homegrown Learners

Last Friday we had our usual Friday Family Happy Hour - for more information on this great family time - I invite you to check THIS post out!

In school this week - we were all over the board...crafting with our Kiwi Crates, gardening on our deck and getting caught up on our Scholastic Newsletters.

This weekend is Memorial Day weekend and Daddy is off again on Monday (HUZZAH!)  we are hosting a small get together on Saturday with a few homechooling families - kinda a celebration of the year!   They are predicting rain, which is a party (and party planner) nightmare  however, with a smaller crowd inside will work fine...just pictures wont be as "nice 'as I wanted them!

Theme:  Memorial Day - NYC Style!

I pray your weekend is blessed and filled with love!

Until next week - Be blessed!

Fun, fun! Melissa, you would be proud of me - I bough S'mores fixings and American flags for this weekend and we are having a pool celebration with the kids each inviting a friend. You know I'm not a huge party planner, so just this little bit is a big step for me! :-)

Love you, my friend!

It's going to POUR here this weekend! :sigh: But the plan is to go spend time with friends on Sunday and go to the kids' grandparents house on Monday for a cook-out (and discuss our upcoming trip). Sounds like you're going to have a blast!

National Chocolate Chip Day

May 15, 2012 is National Chocolate Chip Day Today is National Chocolate Chip Day! Chocolate chips are an essential ingredient in dozens of delicious baked goodsā€”chocolate chip cookies, chocolate chip pancakes, chocolate chip muffins, chocolate chip brownies, chocolate chip bagels, and many more. You can even find chili recipes that call for these sweet morsels! In the 1930s, Ruth Graves Wakefield created the original chocolate chip cookie at her Toll House Inn in Whitman, Massachusetts. Ruth intended to bake chocolate cookies for her guests, but she ran out of bakerā€™s chocolate. She substituted with chopped up semi-sweet chocolate morsels and discovered that the pieces did not melt into the dough as she expected. Her cookies were an instant hit. Today, 25% of all the cookies baked in the United States are chocolate chip! To celebrate National Chocolate Chip Day, pick up a bag of chocolate chips at the supermarket and bake something yummy to share with friends and cowor...

Collage Friday and a Video

We have had a good week here in NY. The snow is melting and the signs of spring are everywhere!  I am ready for the light coat and to put away my Uggs for the season.   Zachary worked on the Women and Children of the Revolutionary War - and some fun Scholastic - Super Science!  He is always working on his IPAD playing Scrabble, Words with Friends, Monopoly, Stack the States and Stack the Countries. The girls and I talked about what is happening outside with the plants and animals. Waking up!  Sammie also enjoyed this Sofia the First Unit. We had so much fun making our Chocolate Volcano Cakes from our Raddish box this week.   Of course some Spring crafting was in order. We made these easy cupcake paper and button flowers pictures. Also using some kitchen sponges (for stamping)  from dollar store to make these beautiful spring cards.  Thursday Science - again going to our Raddish box and finding a cool experiment. ...
