Collage Friday

TGIF - it's been a HOT HOT Week here in NY.  Thanking the good Lord for our central air!
We have been to the beach (lake) twice this week...bowling....bike a thon at church (last Friday) and getting ready for Christmas in July - camping trip (leaving in an hour or so)....WOW - we did find time for some school this week - talking about fire safety and first aid.

Last Friday morning my children participated in a fund raiser/Bike A Thon for the MAD group at church (Making A Difference).  Alone - my children raised over $ 140 in collections.  Zachary himself did 77 laps!  So proud of the kids!  (thanks to Bubby and Daddy for sponsoring the kids!)

Last year collage from  - Camping  - Christmas in July at Jellystone!  We are the reigning Site Decorating Champs and will be defending our title this weekend again!
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and why not join me and others over at Homegrown Learners for Collage Friday!

Today is my mom's birthday!  Love you Bubby!
Be Blessed!

Hi friend! Thanks for linking -- and Happy Birthday to your mom!

We're going to the mountains next week, and there will be a camper there - but we are sleeping in a nice comfy cabin in the woods. Sorry. ;-)

One day I will go camping and blog and link to you generously!

National Chocolate Chip Day

May 15, 2012 is National Chocolate Chip Day Today is National Chocolate Chip Day! Chocolate chips are an essential ingredient in dozens of delicious baked goodsā€”chocolate chip cookies, chocolate chip pancakes, chocolate chip muffins, chocolate chip brownies, chocolate chip bagels, and many more. You can even find chili recipes that call for these sweet morsels! In the 1930s, Ruth Graves Wakefield created the original chocolate chip cookie at her Toll House Inn in Whitman, Massachusetts. Ruth intended to bake chocolate cookies for her guests, but she ran out of bakerā€™s chocolate. She substituted with chopped up semi-sweet chocolate morsels and discovered that the pieces did not melt into the dough as she expected. Her cookies were an instant hit. Today, 25% of all the cookies baked in the United States are chocolate chip! To celebrate National Chocolate Chip Day, pick up a bag of chocolate chips at the supermarket and bake something yummy to share with friends and cowor...

The snow is melting and the signs of spring are everywhere!  I am ready for the light coat and to put away my Uggs for the season.   Zachary worked on the Women and Children of the Revolutionary War - and some fun Scholastic - Super Science!  He is always working on his IPAD playing Scrabble, Words with Friends, Monopoly, Stack the States and Stack the Countries. The girls and I talked about what is happening outside with the plants and animals. Waking up!  Sammie also enjoyed this Sofia the First Unit. We had so much fun making our Chocolate Volcano Cakes from our Raddish box this week.   Of course some Spring crafting was in order. We made these easy cupcake paper and button flowers pictures. Also using some kitchen sponges (for stamping)  from dollar store to make these beautiful spring cards.  Thursday Science - again going to our Raddish box and finding a cool experiment. ...
