Homeschool Week in Review and HUGE NEWS!

I am so happy to see the sun almost everyday this past week.  We have been super busy!  Field trips, school, holidays, yard work and more.....

Upper Left:  Girls working on their latest Kiwi Crate.  If you are not familiar with Kiwi Crate you should be.  Do you have a young one who loves crafting, art, science and exploration?  Then you need to check out Kiwi Crate...you can click on the LARGE Kiwi Crate button on my sidebar.

Upper Right: Lunch time with Story Cubes.  We have used Story Cubes on and off for a few years. LOVE THEM - portable, durable and everyone can participate!

Lower Left:  I have been doing a lot of sketching lately.  Seems to be my creative outlet, when I have an extra few minutes. I have this idea for a children's book series: The Camp Girls - a series about three friends who all meet up at Summer camp each year and the trials and fun times they have growing up together....sigh...if only..

Lower Right:  Experiments:  Zachary grew his own crystals this week!

Field Trip to the Grocery store!  We were able to take a field trip with another homeschool family this past week to our local store.  They children were able to learn all about the bakery and seafood area.  They decorated cookies, sampled some confections and learned all about lobsters!  The next day we got back together to write our Thank you notes.  (Very important!)

We got outside as much as possible this week....

More Science:  We did some investigations on soil this week.  Tested some garden soil for the acidity of it. Surprised on our results!

HUGE NEWS!

I was so excited that the Summer issue of Polka Dot Balloon Magazine came out last weekend!  My excitement doubled when I saw that  Molly's 7th birthday party that I planned, styled, photoed and hosted SNAGGED THE COVER of the issue!  I had two other adorable parties featured also...but most proud of this one!

You can see the entire magazine on line for FREE HERE
You can bet my copy will be framed and hung up!  So humbled and honored!

In addition, I planned a few mini vacations for us, did yard work and cleaned out the kitchen...getting rid of 4 huge boxes of STUFF!  Simplifying my life every day!

Well we are pretty much caught up now!  I hope you had a great week and enjoy everything God has to offer you!

Until next time - be blessed!

Little crafting for Spring

I seem to be in a crafting rutt lately so I needed to get my Spring crafting mojo going...I did something real simple that satisfied me for now... I turned this Goodwill frame $ 1.99 Into this... Using this paint My hot glue gun, some sandpaper, piece of scrape burlap, some moss from the Dollar Tree and a few of the little robin eggs I bought at Pottery Barn a few weeks ago.  I think it's cute and will find a home for it!
