Time for reflection....the 7 year itch

It's time...time for reflection.... It's been just about 7 years since I started this blog.    7 Year Itch is setting in.   It's time for a blogging break.   You gotta know when to hold em', know when to fold em', know when to walk away and know when to run. I can't really say with certain when I will be back. Talks amongst yourselves...topic....PASSION....find it....embrace it.... Be Blessed!

sharing the love...Valentine School Party

 Today was our home school Valentine's Day Party !  The sun was shinning and we had a LOVELY time!  Goodies and Sweets Photobooth - TONS OF FUN! What we did to keep ourselves busy! Valentine BINGO , Coloring Pages , Freeze Dance and we watched The Cat in the Hat Valentine Movie . We all had a wonderful lunch and all the kids passed out their valentines to each other. Happy New Year - China and a Party!

恭禧發財 Gong Hey Fat Choy Today was our Chinese New Year Celebration .  We had prepped for the party by making our Snakes in school last week.  Learning about how the New Year is celebrated in China and reading our books! We swept the floors and cleaned away last year yesterday...today was a day to celebrate! First we had a little school... Then our guests arrived...we played Chinese Pick up Sticks Game . We built the Great Wall of China out of LEGOS .  I had DVR'd the Disney movie, Mulan so that was playing in the background. Kimberly brought some wonderful authentic Chinese items from her trip to China. Along with some pictures. They were amazing. All the kids sat and loved what she shared. Collage Friday

It's been a world wind week this week with me coming back from the BEECH Blogging Conference and trying to get back into the swing of things!  Sharing what we have been up to here at The Joys of Home Educating with others at Homegrown Learners Collage Friday ! Caught up on our Groundhogs Day fun!  We started learning about blood and the heart this month!  Kids love Science and I love to teach it!  Of course we celebrated Pancake Day with some yummy silver dollar pancakes!  Molly continued with her MONEY unit and is catching on quickly! February has a lot to celebrate!  We are learning about China and Ancient China this month. Our Chinese New Year party will be on Monday and we have invited other homeschoolers over to partake in our celebration!  We made snakes (it's the Year of the Snake) and the children are getting used to using their Chopsticks (bought at Epcot this past year) .  Next week - Chinese New Year, Mardi Gr...

BEECHING IT!

Today I will boarding a plan to travel hundreds of miles away from my home, my family and my comfort zone to gather in fellowship with other bloggers who are like minded.   BEECH Retreat   I am excited, scared, excited and already missing the family (lol) Although this is not my 1st blogging conference, it is the only one that I have been to that was not within a few hour driving distance.  Leaving my children and husband are not something I can do lightly and without hesitation.  Not because I don't think my husband can "handle" the children, but because they are my life, my daily reason for waking up in the morning, my everything.
