March is going out like a lion however, April will not be coming in like a lamb.  We still have some snow mounds on the mountain and this rain we are expecting today will hopefully melt all those.  I sure pray that Spring is here to stay now!  I need the sun and the fresh warmer air!  We are definitely lacking in Vitamin D around here.    I started my Spring decorating with little sprinkles here and there.  My mom always gets me a Welcome Spring gift and this year she bought me this beautiful glitter set of bunnies for our master bedroom.  They are SOO cute.  I believe she found them at Pottery Barn.  Don't you think they go well with our gray and turquoise color scheme?  Bunnies are easy to decorate with for Spring because they bring you right through Easter time (which seems to be right in the middle of the month this year, like I remember it growing up). I am always thinking on ways to recycle and reuse items that would otherwise be sitting in our landfills for years and years.  We do recycle plastic, glass, tin,aluminum and cardboard in our community, but I also think we can resuse some of these items for fun crafty goodness! Spring Crafting: Washi Picture Easels Getting my DIY Craft on for Spring! I found these adorable  unfinished  clipboards at A.C. Moore crafts.  Not only are they clipboards, but they have a spot in the back to insert the dowel  (came with it) to allow it to stand up on a desk or table!  Also there is a spot to hang it on the back too!  THEY WERE ONLY A $1.00! Marrying it up with some Spring Washi Tape was the PERFECT little gift.  NOTE: You will need to unscrew the hardware in order to put the last pieces of Washi Tape on the clipboard for a finished look. Easy peasy! HOW Cute did this turn out!  The grandmas will most likely attach a picture of the grandkids! Great for the desks. They can change out the pictures or put notes, grocery lists or anything on the clip.  In my craft stash, I found some cute wooden squares, added a sticky magnet to it and there you go, just the finishing touch it needed! ...

DIY: Spring Easter Yarn Wreath  Sharing an easy  DIY Easter Yarn Wreath  with you today!  Supplies:   Glue Dots  (or hot glue gun)  Artificial flower sprig  Embellishments  A green  STYROFOAM Wreath Yarn  (this is Key Lime Pie from Lily) To help keep the yard tight and in place, I secured with a Glue Dot.  Next just start tightly winding.  ( TIGHTLY is the key ) When I get about 1 inch before meeting both sides of the yarn, I cut and use a glue dot to secure.   Then I attached some of the flowers  (off the stem)  with glue dots.   For the big finish - I attached the glass eggs to some yarn and tied at the top.  I love how it turned out. Just a pop of color on our front door.  H a p p y   Spring!

It's April and Spring is in full BLOOM here in New York.  The children and I started some seedlings INSIDE last month and are finally able to put them outside! Having a full blown garden in our yard is not practical  (and near impossible).  We have many creatures that would partake in the daily harvest before we would be able to even get to it - hence we have a garden on our upper deck each year.  Our planting menu includes: Tomatoes  basil, green beans, rosemary, peppers, thyme and a few other herbs and flowers.  I am still looking forward to our local farmer's market that runs from late June until October for the veggies we eat on a daily basis. I just love the outdoors (and so do the children) - getting our hands dirty, finding new creatures and the fresh air is sooooo refreshing from the house that has been closed up all Winter.  Learning about how seeds start and grow... .
