On Christmas Break

I have been pretty "to myself" regarding the events that took place last Friday.  Really only speaking to God on the subject.  I find myself confused, saddened and blessed all at the same time - emotions running wild.   I really don't want to comment other than to say that we are praying for those families who lost their blessings that day.  We have decided to take a break from our normal routine and incorporate more family time and FUN into our final days of 2012.   I will be back in the New Year to hopefully encourage and inform you!    Blessings to you and your family.

It's Día de navidad here!

Today is Christmas Day ( Día de navidad) in our Christmas around the world studies and we are in Mexico !  If you missed Christmas Eve you can see what we did HERE !  We started by placing The Baby Jesus in the manger. Now we can celebrate his birth! Each child received a gift ( I hid them in the Poinsettia plant) They love Smencils!  We watched some Teacher Tube - learning all about the Christmas Eve and Christmas day in Mexico and how they celebrate. Even had the Mexicana Music on -  Silent Night was playing! Time for Pinata breaking!    I had the kids complete some fun activities.. Ugly Sweater Contest !  We had a fun snack and listened to more Music in Spanish!   Hope you have enjoyed our Mexico trip and will join us next week for  Christmas in China! Have a wonderful weekend and be blessed!

Then started our Christmas Eve teachings!   I loved this two page worksheet from Education.com  Filled in our Christmas Around the World worksheet After some of the technical stuff...we got down to party business! Time for Christmas Eve Festivities! Little Mexicana Music to help set the mood! Pinata Craft  (found idea HERE ) Gathered our supplies Filled them up Taped them together Time to decorate our Pinatas (I strung the string thru one cup before they filled and taped together) What we read... We put out the newest Nativity that the girls painted this year. On Christmas Eve the Baby Jesus and the Wise Men are not present. It's not until tomorrow morning (Christmas Day) when he will appear (as Sammie said
