Planners, Calendars and Lists...Oh My

I am probably THE most organized person that I know (most will probably agree) ...lists and calendars are in abundance here at the Newell home....I can't begin to tell you how many calendars, planners, homeschool planners that I have tried, used and thrown away over the years. Last year I used ( and LOVED but barely used it to it's fullest potential) A Well Planned Day - HOWEVER, this year I really can't justify the cost involved when there are SO many FREE printable pages out there (Free I guess if you dont think about the ink and paper involved...lol)...Even at our favorite supply store the basic monthly calendar was $ 20 . ..sigh ....so I have been printing off the monthly calendar pages over a t Anything But Perfec t (for FREE ) and they are so cute...and found FREE planning pages over at Donna Young (gotta love Donna)   What do you use?  Do you like it?  Have you tried a lot of different things?

We live about an hour  North of NYC and love the country life..complete with bears, woodchucks, bald eagles and more...we love the outdoors and ride our quads whenever we get a chance! My oldest, Jeremy, is an IT Network Admin for the biggest utility company in NYC and my youngest  when asked, says he will be a LEGO Master Designer som

Birthday Week Continues with a Giveaway!

Still celebrating Zachary's 7th birthday this week....we interrupt the usual  Thankful Thursday for this awesome Giveaway!   I am always looking for FUN yet Educational on line learning for our son, Zachary.  A 7 year old boy needs  a lot of different ways to learn and keep their mind stimulated!  This is where Math Blaster  and JumpStart come in.  We have had a JumpStart membership for a while but did you know that Knowledge Adventure  also has a great math on line game called Math Blaster ?!  In JumpStart, there are many places to explore once you launch the game, some of which you may already be familiar with. The first is an area called StoryLand, aimed at 3-5 year olds. Children can also explore AdventureLand and MarineLand, designed for kids in kindergarten to second grade. In addition, children in 3 rd  to 5 th  grade may be interested in checking out FutureLand, geared towards older children. We also just launched our most popular area, the Enchanted Sanctuary, where

Boys Book Club # 2

You might have caught my post a few weeks ago on the Boys Book Club that my son is a part of. If not, here i s the link. The book that they read for the last 2 1/2 weeks is called Stink, the Incredible Shrinking Kid . This series is awesome. If you have a child who likes to read, or really does not really like to read, I bet they would love STINK! (From Amazon)... Kindergarten-Grade 2-Judy Moody's little brother, James (aka Stink), is the shining star of this dramatic production of Megan McDonald's beginning chapter book (Candlewick, 2005). Stink's perception that he is shorter than the average second grader is reinforced by his sister, Judy, who revels in every opportunity for sibling rivalry. While the story line centers around Stink's height problem, it also embraces humor and provides plenty of facts to make the story believable. When President's Day arrives, for example, Stink presents a brief report on the shortest president, James Madison. McDonald's hum
