Oh friends, it's been a blessed week for sure! Welcome to Farmhouse Friday No. 4.  As you might have seen, if you follow me on Instagram, we added another family member to the farmhouse this week!   My daughter-in-law and son welcomed baby Marqaux Elizabeth to the family on Tuesday evening.  All are happy and healthy, which is a blessing for sure! Farmhouse Friday No. 3

Welcome to the third issue of Farmhouse Friday where I share our homeschool and week at the farmhouse. Last weekend hubby and I went to a surprise 50th birthday for a close friend. It was at a local distillery. I had never been to a distillery before and it was quit interesting to hear the process in which they make their grain alcohol. Personally, I am not a fan of these types of alcohol but never the less learned all I could.   It was a rustic farm like setting, perfect for the birthday boy.  We snacked on great food and shared some fellowship.   After the party,  we picked up  my mother and went and found our Christmas trees.  We are all decked out for the holidays here at Woodwater Farmhouse.  Lots of fun themed book reading going on. Board games and Christmas movies happening.  We have not gotten into our baking modes yet, but rest assured it will come.   If  I may talk frank here with you friends, the kids have been less than cheerful and bright.  I have ha

Shining the Spotlight - Finding Home Farms

Today at  Woodwater Farmhouse , I am sharing with you another company that I feel you should know about.   I first learned about Finding Home Farms on Instagram. Little did I know, Laura, one of the owners of Finding Home Farms, lives local to me, in the Hudson Valley of New York.  You can read all about Laura and her lovely family at her blog about page.   I immediately knew that I had to try their products in my home. I have grown to love their products (shop) , Laura's sense of style and her blog.  Can we just stop now and talk about their packaging first.  It speaks to you before even trying the products. Simple, organic and calming.  Isn't it just darling with the little dove. sigh.... insert smile I love her blog tagline - Gather Create Connect - that says it all, there in three little words. YOU already know before going forward that you are in for a special treat.  I am only going to speak to a few of their many products because th

More to come!  Homeschooling this past week.. ..we finished up our November teachings and started right into December.  We will be taking it nice and slow in December and hoping to enjoy some visits from friends and community service opportunities.  These are very cute countdown activity books that I found at Target last month. The girls are loving them!  Each day we read a new book from our Christmas Collection and we started a unit study on one of our favorites  The Mitten.  Lots of games this week also and advent ha

Woodwater Farmhouse Christmas - a peek inside

Hi friends - we are relaxing a little here at the farmhouse this week.  Thanksgiving week and weekend was FULL of family and friends and food!  It's time to get back on that workout wagon and eating better!   While I had a few minutes, I thought I would share just a glimpse into some of our Christmas decor this year. Moving into a new house this summer was exciting, in and of itself,  but when it came to decorating for the holidays, I was giddy with excitement! I dug all the moving boxes labeled Christmas out of the attic (seems like we JUST put them in there) and made piles of what I would be using and what would make it's way back in to the attic.  Something I was determined to do was use the natural elements we have right here, on the almost 10 acre property, to create some Christmas decor.  I made a handful of these swags and scattered them around the porch. With the hundreds of evergreen trees at the house, it was easy to find the supplies.
