March with Dr. Seuss

March is always a fun month here at our homeschool with St. Patty's Day fun and of course Dr. Seuss with Read Across America!   Prepping the schoolroom is one of my favorite things to do. So colorful and whimsy!  For a ton of fun inspiration and worksheets, I invite you to follow my Pinterest page . Also a ton of activities to download and print at Read Across America Page here .  This post may contain affiliate or sponsor links. Make it Monday - Clothespin Pals

Happy Monday everyone.  The eve of Valentine's Day!  Also the eve of our dog, Lilly's, first birthday! We have had her since October 1st of 2016 and still are so very happy with her.  Today I am bringing you another Make it Monday .   The craft today is easy and you might even have the supplies in your craft bin as I type this! Supplies you will need:  glue, clothespins, scissors, a fine tip marker, felt and needle with thread.  You first want to cut out a small square piece of felt for your hat.  Then make a rounded cut on the bottom of the square. This will help you shape the cone hat for your pal.  After that, carefully sew the hat together. I tried gluing but it did not hold. Felt does not hold well with school glue.  After you made the hat (I made a little cuff on mine as you can see just folding it up) , next you draw the little face on him and you can also cut out a scarf for your pal.  If you don't have the colored pins you can paint or us

Farmhouse Friday

Happy snowy Friday from New York!  WOW did we get slammed yesterday with little over a foot of snow. Thankful that hubster can work from home on days like that.    It was beautiful to watch it fall and the kids got out for a little while to play but sledding was tough. It was a light powdery snow, hard to make trails.  The dog LOVES the snow. I posted a few videos on IG of her prancing around.  Last Friday the girls presented their SPACE projects at the monthly Homeschool presentation day at our library. There were six children who presented.   Sammie did her report on Astronaut Food and the history of it. Molly did hers on animals that have gone into space.  Both did well and set the bar high for future presentations! Next month's topic is HUMAN BODY.  On Saturday, a friend invited us to a local school play - Shrek Jr. !!  The girls, Bubby and I went. It was great!!  I was so impressed with the acting and singing. Fun time! Of course ice cream

February - Shining the Spotlight

Happy February Friends! I am excited to bring you another Shining the Spotlight post. February's spotlight small business is dear to my heart for a few reasons. One: it's a small woman owned business by someone that I am friends with in real life and two, it's a company that really cares about our environment and recycling and upcycling.  Caroline Califf is the mastermind behind Uptote and I love her tagline  - where creativity and upcycling meet. From rustic lavender sachets to her latest creations (selling out quickly) the FuzzBud Buddie Plushie.  Her workmanship is second to none.  Some of her first creations that I was attracted to was her upcycled handbags. Taking old jeans and pants and making handbags and totebags with them. I have a few in my handbag collection.  Uptote has been on Etsy since 2010.  With a variety of handmade products and some supplies to make your own. Caroline has the skill level of a high end designer wi

Farmhouse Friday

It's Friday and a fun Friday indeed!  We always have fun Friday here at our homeschool.  Games, treats and sometimes out to lunch! Today the girls have presentations at the local library and friends are coming over after for space cakes (Space is the theme for the presentations).  Should be fun! (watch IG for details) Last weekend was cold but sunny and I had all my children, my mom, DIL and grandbaby girl here for the day after church. Dogs included.  We played games, ate yummy happy hour type food and enjoyed each others company.  LOVE DAYS like that.  Working on eating healthy and getting back to my better habits!  Planning out February... it's My Birthday Month !  Turning 49 years young towards the end of the month.  Last year in my 40's...keeping a "grateful" journal of sorts in IG with postings each day of what I am grateful for.  It's been a sad week in the homeschooling community. With an "on line" f
