Christmas Tour - glimpse inside

One of my favorite things to do when I have a free minute, is to check out all the beautiful Holiday Christmas Home Tours in blogland. There are SO many beautiful blogs that are dedicated to homes and lifestyles. While, ours is not one of those, I am proud of our new kitchen and feel blessed how far our family has come over the last 17 years!   You won't see perfectly staged areas in my pictures, just our real life but I thought worthy of sharing....so here goes... (no judgments please) Hopefully you can get some design ideas from the tour. I am always on the lookout for new ways to decorate!  Would love for you to leave your ideas in the comments! It was fun decorating for Christmas in the new kitchen. White is the perfect background for the red to pop!  I really don't have a theme to decorating, just what I love. Probably if you had to pick one "theme" it might be "Farmhouse" style.  We put the red knobs back on the stove..if yo

Tip Me Tuesday - DIY Advent Wreath

Happy Tuesday - now that you have put away all the fall related decor and sorted through all the Christmas and holiday decor, there is one thing left to do!  If you celebrate the season of Advent, it's time to get out or make your own Advent Wreath !   There are so many beautiful wreaths and ideas out there for advent. I have a Pinterest board full of them!   I love to make our own and it's so easy to do!  I am sharing some pictures of an Advent Wreath that we made a few years ago that I am going to duplicate this year.  I used a cake stand. This one happens to be from Dayspring and has scripture on it.  A twig wreath from the dollar store.  Some pine branches from our yard and a few candles.  You can see how I put it all together. I displayed it on our table and there you go!  The children loved it and so did I.  Here are some other ideas I thought were perfect! source source source Whatever you celebrate, I

Farmhouse BLACK Friday: Great Gifts Ideas!

Ok so it's not FRIDAY Yet...but I have some exciting things to share with you.... I am so excited about Christmas this year. Maybe because we are NOT doing a lot of actual gifts. But rather more "experiences" this year.  I can't yet tell you about them, as my kids might read my blog...but rest assured they are great!  IN case you missed it on Make It Monday - here is a link to that post about making your own Natural Wreaths!  I wanted to give you some other wonderful ideas from some of the affiliates that I represent and other companies that I believe in! Right now you can get a FREE Art lesson from Chalkpastel.com and see what all the buzz is about. I love these tutorials as they are not hard at all and not time consuming. Let's face it, we are all busy these days. I Love to create and have something to show for it! The girls love them also!  Next item that I hope you will love!  This next

Make it Monday: Farmhouse Natural Wreath

Hi all and WELCOME to another Make It Monday! Today I am sharing a quick tutorial with you that anyone can make!  Using elements from our own property and a little time, I created a few outdoor, natural decorations for the farmhouse.  What you will need to make these wreaths: Flexible branches Thin floral wire Cutting shears Wreath base (can be anything round - grape vine, wire etc) First step:  take some time to venture out. Maybe it's a drive down the road; maybe it's in your own backyard. Find some greens that you like. I am using juniper today. Two different kinds. Just because that is what we have in abundance here at the farmhouse.  I had a few grapevine wreaths hanging around that I purchased at a craft store. Sometimes even the dollar store has them.  Do you see how these grapevine wreaths have some vines holding them together?  That is the key to using these wreaths.  I used those anchoring vines to help hold in my twigs/b

Thank you.  I also way to wish a Happy Birthday to my bestie, partner in crime, soul sister and "sister wife" - Tina!  Her birthday is Tuesday!  KISSES my friend!  I love ya with all my heart and all my soul!  Welcome to another Farmhouse Friday!  November is here and we are ready for it!  We winterized the camper, the pool is closed and we put our patio furniture away..so now it will get warm again..HAHA  Isn't that the way it always works? In case you missed it, we started a new Science Curriculum a few weeks ago from BJU Press.  Oh my word, we are HOOKED, line and sinker on this Science 4!  You can read more about it in my post!   Tis the season for more baking (and more eating). The girls have been busy in the kitchen.  They both love to cook. We freeze a lot so we can pull it out over the busy holiday season when friends stop by.  Molly is
