Blogland Friendships & A Shout Out

So as most of you know, it was my birthday on Tuesday. (If you did not know, you are missing out on some great giveaways this week so check out the blog!)

Turning 43, was not much different than an ordinary day.   I took the kids to my SIL's (hubby's sister) to play with their cousins for a while and visit with the SIL.   She did not even remember it was my birthday, so nothing too exciting there...lol...hubby did not really do too much..a card and some flowers (to be fair....we are waiting for his bonus to come next week and I am hoping for a silhouette machine~)   My mom bought me a bread maker (which I wanted but I have yet to figure out and make something) and my oldest son emailed me a gift card to Pottery Barn (which I already spent on-line)....

HOWEVER, when I retrieved the mail today, much to my surprise, one of my newest "friends" whom I have only met in the virtual world of blogging, had sent me a Bath & Body works lotion for my birthday!   I was so touched and surprised, right away I stopped in my tracks walking up the long driveway in the snow (from the mailbox) and thanked God for all the blessings, especially Jamie over at Meadow Creek!   If you are interested in following a fellow homeschooling momma who is passionate about her family, their animals and has a great heart, then I suggest you go check her out!

So to you, Jamie

And also Thank you to all my bloggy friends who came by to wish me a Happy Birthday!

National Chocolate Chip Day

May 15, 2012 is National Chocolate Chip Day Today is National Chocolate Chip Day! Chocolate chips are an essential ingredient in dozens of delicious baked goods—chocolate chip cookies, chocolate chip pancakes, chocolate chip muffins, chocolate chip brownies, chocolate chip bagels, and many more. You can even find chili recipes that call for these sweet morsels! In the 1930s, Ruth Graves Wakefield created the original chocolate chip cookie at her Toll House Inn in Whitman, Massachusetts. Ruth intended to bake chocolate cookies for her guests, but she ran out of baker’s chocolate. She substituted with chopped up semi-sweet chocolate morsels and discovered that the pieces did not melt into the dough as she expected. Her cookies were an instant hit. Today, 25% of all the cookies baked in the United States are chocolate chip! To celebrate National Chocolate Chip Day, pick up a bag of chocolate chips at the supermarket and bake something yummy to share with friends and cowor
