Birthday Week Continues with a Giveaway!

Still celebrating Zachary's 7th birthday this week....we interrupt the usual Thankful Thursday for this awesome Giveaway!

I am always looking for FUN yet Educational on line learning for our son, Zachary.  A 7 year old boy needs  a lot of different ways to learn and keep their mind stimulated!  This is where Math Blaster and JumpStart come in.  We have had a JumpStart membership for a while but did you know that Knowledge Adventure also has a great math on line game called Math Blaster?!

In JumpStart, there are many places to explore once you launch the game, some of which you may already be familiar with. The first is an area called StoryLand, aimed at 3-5 year olds. Children can also explore AdventureLand and MarineLand, designed for kids in kindergarten to second grade. In addition, children in 3rd to 5th grade may be interested in checking out FutureLand, geared towards older children. We also just launched our most popular area, the Enchanted Sanctuary, where kids can hatch and raise their own dragons!

In Math Blaster, there are many places to explore once you launch the math game, most of which function similarly to arcade games. Blasters can build their math skills by visiting the Academy and the Job Board, and there are other fun games in the Space Port, as well.

Zachary is having a BLAST with Math Blaster!  He finds it easy to get around. He plays with others on line in real time.  Learning is made fun!  Relates well to his age group.  We are very happy with this awesome learning Math adventure! I LOVE the parent section also!

SIDE NOTE: This is his birthday week and Math Blaster recognized that and
Wished him a Happy Birthday with a special message and birthday hat for
his avatar!

OK, my children love math so of course I like the idea of pushing them in math without pushing them! Very cool!

This seems like a fun way to help break the monotony that math can sometimes bring about. It also looks like a guilt free way for some quiet time!
Thanks,
Lindsey

I really think that this would be an awesome addition to our school plans for this year. It would actually work for two of my kids, which is convenient! I think that when learning is fun, they get a lot more out of it.

National Chocolate Chip Day

May 15, 2012 is National Chocolate Chip Day Today is National Chocolate Chip Day! Chocolate chips are an essential ingredient in dozens of delicious baked goods—chocolate chip cookies, chocolate chip pancakes, chocolate chip muffins, chocolate chip brownies, chocolate chip bagels, and many more. You can even find chili recipes that call for these sweet morsels! In the 1930s, Ruth Graves Wakefield created the original chocolate chip cookie at her Toll House Inn in Whitman, Massachusetts. Ruth intended to bake chocolate cookies for her guests, but she ran out of baker’s chocolate. She substituted with chopped up semi-sweet chocolate morsels and discovered that the pieces did not melt into the dough as she expected. Her cookies were an instant hit. Today, 25% of all the cookies baked in the United States are chocolate chip! To celebrate National Chocolate Chip Day, pick up a bag of chocolate chips at the supermarket and bake something yummy to share with friends and cowor...
