Funday Friday

Happy Friday Y'all! Fridays around The Joys of Home Educating in the Summer means, NO SCHOOL for the kiddies!  We do however continue with our Summer Free Bowling program at our local lanes!  FUN FUN!  I have been under the weather all week with a cough, no other symptoms but the cough is keeping me up at night 8(    Tomorrow  we have a  graduation  party to attend (family thing). I am hoping on  Sunday  I can REST!  We were invited away for the 4th up to the Poconos with some friends - looking  forward to that! What's your weekend shaping up to look like?

Thankful Thursday

Been UBER busy here at The Joys of Home Educating. ...parties, school, camping oh my.....finally taking time to breath, breath it all in....sit in some silence and listen to myself, listen to God speak to me. I have not been listening...hearing yes, but listening, no. Little teaser pic from our "One Smart Cookie" party yesterday be watching for a post next week on the Party Blog! When I really stop, stop it all, I realize how THANKFUL I am for all I have been given.  Take NO days for granted, no food, no water, no relationships.  As my relationships with other women come and go, grow and disappear, I struggle to find the few GOOD, TRUE BLUE, would do anything for you friend.  I had these girlfriends back "home" in upstate NY.  I find it hard to get close to women where we live now ( Southern NY ). Maybe because they are all so busy?  Maybe because they don't' "let me in"?  Maybe I set my expectations too high?  Either way ...

Funday Monday

Our trip to the Bronx Zoo is put on hold due to the weather and I am a little under the weather also.      Instead we maintained our Summer School Schedule with our Social Studies learning today...more with US Presidents!   Zachary also started his Summer Bridge Workbook that I won over at Confessions of a Homeschooler. If you are not a follower of my other blog - My Party Passion  - you might want to be!  This week I am sharing some exciting news and a giveaway!   Have a great week and Be Blessed!

Summer Garden - Deck Style

We have WAY too many wildlife visitors in our yard to have a "real" garden.  We do however try each year to do some herbs and a few veggies on our upper deck ( no way off of the deck from the outside so no critters and get to them) .  This year we have had more than our share of rain but the plants are holding strong... Check out this  Vertical Pallet Garden over at TerraSavvy  It would have been a space saver this year for sure! It's Molly chore everyday to water the plants and see how they are doing. Mother Nature has helped with that - rain again today! Do you garden? Be Blessed!
