Thankful Thursday

Been UBER busy here at The Joys of Home Educating....parties, school, camping oh my.....finally taking time to breath, breath it all in....sit in some silence and listen to myself, listen to God speak to me. I have not been listening...hearing yes, but listening, no.

Little teaser pic from our "One Smart Cookie" party yesterday
be watching for a post next week on the Party Blog!

When I really stop, stop it all, I realize how THANKFUL I am for all I have been given.  Take NO days for granted, no food, no water, no relationships.  As my relationships with other women come and go, grow and disappear, I struggle to find the few GOOD, TRUE BLUE, would do anything for you friend.  I had these girlfriends back "home" in upstate NY.  I find it hard to get close to women where we live now (Southern NY). Maybe because they are all so busy?  Maybe because they don't' "let me in"?  Maybe I set my expectations too high?  Either way I am thankful for the relationships I do have and pray that a few of them grow into a deeper friendship.

So what I am thankful for, right now, today as I sit here:

The SUN
My husband
My faith
Our financial security
My health

Whatcha thankful for today?

REMINDER: If you want to get in on the HUGE giveaway over at my party blog, My Party Passion, I invite you to do so!  Great stuff for you to pamper yourself - over $ 100 in fun stuff!

I think it is in your head/higher expectations because I consider us "good friends"... I think you have a lot of good friends in this area and a great group of moms/kids. It is harder to get together with conflicting schedules as all the kids are at different ages with different school settings and schedules, but the fundamentals of friendship and camaraderie are still present. I am super busy a lot bc I work 5-6 nights a week and get very little sleep... but I still try to get out to everything and even asked you multiple times if we should plan stuff like zoo trips. I know other mommas from our little group have their own stuff as well... I may not "open up" about everything bc I am a quiet person by nature but if you ever needed anything that was in my power to help you with, I would. I'm not trying to start anything, just wanted to let you know that you have friends here.
and to answer the final question : one of the things I am thankful for on a constant basis IS connecting with MLM that ultimately led me to this great group of women I consider my friends now.

Thanks Momma for the comment. Oh don't read this wrong or at least the way I ment it to be..I have a lot of friends in the area. What I am talking about is that friend you can show up on their doorstep with a bottle of wine and talk for hours (about other things that kids 8) ) The kind of friend that you have that "soulmate" type relationship with - I am sure you have a few of these kinds of friends....more deeper relationship...hope I clarified that better....i thought I had one a few years ago, but that ended 8(

Glad you found friends with the MLM group!

National Chocolate Chip Day

May 15, 2012 is National Chocolate Chip Day Today is National Chocolate Chip Day! Chocolate chips are an essential ingredient in dozens of delicious baked goods—chocolate chip cookies, chocolate chip pancakes, chocolate chip muffins, chocolate chip brownies, chocolate chip bagels, and many more. You can even find chili recipes that call for these sweet morsels! In the 1930s, Ruth Graves Wakefield created the original chocolate chip cookie at her Toll House Inn in Whitman, Massachusetts. Ruth intended to bake chocolate cookies for her guests, but she ran out of baker’s chocolate. She substituted with chopped up semi-sweet chocolate morsels and discovered that the pieces did not melt into the dough as she expected. Her cookies were an instant hit. Today, 25% of all the cookies baked in the United States are chocolate chip! To celebrate National Chocolate Chip Day, pick up a bag of chocolate chips at the supermarket and bake something yummy to share with friends and cowor...
