Learning Moments - while on vacation

Over the Father's Day weekend we hit the open road and drove 3 hours to our camping destination in Cooperstown, NY (Jellystone park).  While we were disappointed with the camping facility (that's for another post) - we did have a great time with our BFF's and a few excursion trips!

I love how the kids don't even realize they are learning, while on vacation!

Teach a boy to fish....feed him for life!

Learned how to pop popcorn over the open fire - the old fashion way!

Learned about how this dragonfly sucked the entire bug (to his left) clean out!  Just
the shell left.

Hubby taught Zachary how to play chess (IPAD Style)

We took a trip to a local Cider Mill - learned a TON!

National Baseball Hall of Fame Museum

You can't turn a corner without learning something here -

Hubby and I want to go back without the kiddies someday to really read
everything!  So much to offer!

We are off of school today as we came home 1 day early from camping
Seems Sammie has an eye infection 8(

Back to learning tomorrow!

Be Blessed

Did you just get the Whirly Pop? It is actually the only way we make popcorn, cook it with olive oil and you have no need for butter.

Caroline - I think that is what it is. I used some veggie oil since that is all I had camping. No butter at all....tasted WONDERFUL! We will use it from now on even at our own fires. The only thing is that it was real hot standing there keeping it whirling...lol

Collage Friday and a Video

We have had a good week here in NY. The snow is melting and the signs of spring are everywhere!  I am ready for the light coat and to put away my Uggs for the season.   Zachary worked on the Women and Children of the Revolutionary War - and some fun Scholastic - Super Science!  He is always working on his IPAD playing Scrabble, Words with Friends, Monopoly, Stack the States and Stack the Countries. The girls and I talked about what is happening outside with the plants and animals. Waking up!  Sammie also enjoyed this Sofia the First Unit. We had so much fun making our Chocolate Volcano Cakes from our Raddish box this week.   Of course some Spring crafting was in order. We made these easy cupcake paper and button flowers pictures. Also using some kitchen sponges (for stamping)  from dollar store to make these beautiful spring cards.  Thursday Science - again going to our Raddish box and finding a cool experiment. ...
