Legos, Farms and an Educational Playdate!

One of my friends, who happens to be starting homeschooling her daughter this year, invited us to a Farm Party - with a Lego Duplo Theme.  Oh my she went over the top for this party/playdate!

She had crafts set up for the kids.
She had the felt board out.
She read a story to them.
Kids had a ball - learning - playing - creating!

Love it!

Thanks to my gal pal, Kimberly for all the time and effort you put into the party for the kids!

FUN LEGO FACTS:

The LEGO minifigure represents the WORLDS" LARGEST POPULATION of people with over 4 Billion minifigures being produced in the last 30 years.  That is almost 12 times the population of the US!

There are 915 Million ways to combine 6 eight stud LEGO bricks!

The word LEGO is the contraction of two Danish words,

LEG GODT

which means Play Well!

There are over 2,500 different LEGO Star Wars minifigures!

If you built a column of about 40 million LEGO Bricks it would reach the MOON!

Be Blessed!

Awesome presentation! The little piggies look so cute! It's great that they could have so much fun and learn all at the same time (not to mention enjoy cupcakes, etc.). Thanks for sharing this at Gettin' Krafty!

National Chocolate Chip Day

May 15, 2012 is National Chocolate Chip Day Today is National Chocolate Chip Day! Chocolate chips are an essential ingredient in dozens of delicious baked goods—chocolate chip cookies, chocolate chip pancakes, chocolate chip muffins, chocolate chip brownies, chocolate chip bagels, and many more. You can even find chili recipes that call for these sweet morsels! In the 1930s, Ruth Graves Wakefield created the original chocolate chip cookie at her Toll House Inn in Whitman, Massachusetts. Ruth intended to bake chocolate cookies for her guests, but she ran out of baker’s chocolate. She substituted with chopped up semi-sweet chocolate morsels and discovered that the pieces did not melt into the dough as she expected. Her cookies were an instant hit. Today, 25% of all the cookies baked in the United States are chocolate chip! To celebrate National Chocolate Chip Day, pick up a bag of chocolate chips at the supermarket and bake something yummy to share with friends and cowor
