Splash Math - Review and Giveaway

Today I am happy to bring you a review and giveaway from Splash Math!

I was given a yearly subscription of Splashmath.com for our home in exchange for my honest feedback. These opinions in this post are all my own.  This post may contain affiliate or sponsor links. Please see full disclosure at the bottom of the page.

Studypad, a pioneer in curriculum aligned educational apps on iPads , with its new product wants to give the same  iPad experience to those homes which have internet access through  PC.

Adding to the user experience, Splash Math for web has more comprehensive content than its app counterparts , parents and kids get an explanation for every question their kids answer incorrectly instead of simple right and wrong . Instead of just a singular grade, it provides Common Core aligned practice content from all of Grades 1 through 5. This offers an added advantage to the child. They can now move beyond his grade  and practice the next grade level, and also  go back and revise the previous grade skills and strengthen them. Splash Math for web adapts to the child's level and ensures his proficiency at math skills.

I signed up Zachary for grade level 4 on the Splashmath.com site.  I was not sure really how he would do, since some of it (to me) seemed easy.  I thought he would get all the answers correct being that it seemed simple to him, however, it did not.   He told me it was easy to navigate the site.

In addition  I liked how the parent can see the progress of the student. You can see the different "skills" in each grade level unit on the Parent Information page. There is also a page that gives you the summary of how your child is doing and where improvements need to be made with charts and graphs!  Anything that helps me out and makes my life easier gets an A in my book!

National Chocolate Chip Day

May 15, 2012 is National Chocolate Chip Day Today is National Chocolate Chip Day! Chocolate chips are an essential ingredient in dozens of delicious baked goods—chocolate chip cookies, chocolate chip pancakes, chocolate chip muffins, chocolate chip brownies, chocolate chip bagels, and many more. You can even find chili recipes that call for these sweet morsels! In the 1930s, Ruth Graves Wakefield created the original chocolate chip cookie at her Toll House Inn in Whitman, Massachusetts. Ruth intended to bake chocolate cookies for her guests, but she ran out of baker’s chocolate. She substituted with chopped up semi-sweet chocolate morsels and discovered that the pieces did not melt into the dough as she expected. Her cookies were an instant hit. Today, 25% of all the cookies baked in the United States are chocolate chip! To celebrate National Chocolate Chip Day, pick up a bag of chocolate chips at the supermarket and bake something yummy to share with friends and cowor...
