Collage Friday

Last Friday we celebrated Valentine's Day with some treats and lots of lovin'!  The children all received books from my hubby and myself along with some sweetheart SweetTarts.  We also feasted on some mini valentine cakes.

Like so much of the US our snow is out of control.  Not only can the children not play in it because they lose their boots from step 1 into it (so deep) but our wildlife is finding it a challenge to find food and drudge thru the snow..

Our library class this week was themed around being positive and loving each other.  The children had a nice time as always.

I ask that you pray for me today, pray for a safe travel as I fly out of NYC this afternoon and go south to see my father.  My father will be called HOME soon to be with so many others including his younger sister and brother.  It's a time for reflection, sharing stories and praying.  Pray that my husband and children will be kept safe at home and their strength will travel with me.  Also needed prayer for my husband's step-sister as she is battling horrible pneumonia in the hospital which is complicated by her MS.

Won't you join me and link up your week over at Collage Friday - Homegrown Learners

Until we next time - Be Blessed and Huge your family!

Melissa ~ My prayers are with you and your dad. This is a hard season of life (you know I can sympathize with you right now), but you are faithful and God is good. He's got this.

Hugs to you. Even when life is hard, you manage to be positive and uplifiting. I love that about you.

National Chocolate Chip Day

May 15, 2012 is National Chocolate Chip Day Today is National Chocolate Chip Day! Chocolate chips are an essential ingredient in dozens of delicious baked goods—chocolate chip cookies, chocolate chip pancakes, chocolate chip muffins, chocolate chip brownies, chocolate chip bagels, and many more. You can even find chili recipes that call for these sweet morsels! In the 1930s, Ruth Graves Wakefield created the original chocolate chip cookie at her Toll House Inn in Whitman, Massachusetts. Ruth intended to bake chocolate cookies for her guests, but she ran out of baker’s chocolate. She substituted with chopped up semi-sweet chocolate morsels and discovered that the pieces did not melt into the dough as she expected. Her cookies were an instant hit. Today, 25% of all the cookies baked in the United States are chocolate chip! To celebrate National Chocolate Chip Day, pick up a bag of chocolate chips at the supermarket and bake something yummy to share with friends and cowor...
