A NYC Trip, Dr. Seuss, Feelings and Collage Friday

DON'T FORGET TO ENTER TO WIN ------->

WOW it's been a real busy week.   I will let the pictures do most of the talking...

Saturday my mother and I took Molly and Zachary, by train, into NYC to see STOMP. It was my third time seeing this FABULOUS show. Molly and Zachary LOVED IT!

It was the 20th Anniversary of the show this past weekend.  STOMP is a unique combination of percussion, movement and visual comedy. Watch this to see!

We had the perfect day - out to lunch and dinner. A much needed break from the day to day thoughts.  Two of the performers even let us snap a quick picture.

All things SEUSS this week. Art...LEGOs...reading...studies and more!

Our Wednesday library discovery class was all about "Feelings" this week. The children had a great time.

We also learned about the Iditarod which started this past weekend. We loved learning about how and what they put into their sled for this 1029 mile trek across the Alaskan tundra.  When my hubby and I were in Alaska we could see ourselves living there.  We hope to go back and visit with our children to show them this beautiful state.

Did you get a chance to see my post on Wednesday and catch up with all that is happening here?

I am leaving tomorrow (Lord and weather willing) for a few days to see my father.  I am not sure what exactly to expect other than sitting with him, talking to him and helping his GF make some arrangements and plans for when he goes HOME.

Linking up to Mary over at Collage Friday - Homegrown Learners

I pray you have a wonderful weekend!

Until next time - Be Blessed!

STOMP does look like such fun! It's too bad we're so far away! Grrr! LOL We enjoyed Alaska too! Loved the southern, mountain towns we visited....and most of them have milder weather than we do here in Maine!

You are the second homeschooler this week to be on top of the Alaska race thing - I feel so inadequate when I miss those opportunities! Love the movie Eight Below. Great job, Melissa!

National Chocolate Chip Day

May 15, 2012 is National Chocolate Chip Day Today is National Chocolate Chip Day! Chocolate chips are an essential ingredient in dozens of delicious baked goods—chocolate chip cookies, chocolate chip pancakes, chocolate chip muffins, chocolate chip brownies, chocolate chip bagels, and many more. You can even find chili recipes that call for these sweet morsels! In the 1930s, Ruth Graves Wakefield created the original chocolate chip cookie at her Toll House Inn in Whitman, Massachusetts. Ruth intended to bake chocolate cookies for her guests, but she ran out of baker’s chocolate. She substituted with chopped up semi-sweet chocolate morsels and discovered that the pieces did not melt into the dough as she expected. Her cookies were an instant hit. Today, 25% of all the cookies baked in the United States are chocolate chip! To celebrate National Chocolate Chip Day, pick up a bag of chocolate chips at the supermarket and bake something yummy to share with friends and cowor...
