Raddish - bringing families together

One of my fondness memories growing up was the fellowship at the dinner table.  It was a place where I knew we would recap the thoughts and events of day with the entire family.

This tradition has been carried on in my own home. Whenever possible, we eat as a family at our big farm table discussing the day.

What is that old saying....

Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day; show him how to catch fish, and you feed him for a lifetime.

This is how I feel about cooking and kitchen science.  If the children understand how and why it all comes together each night, then they will be ahead of game when they have to cook for themselves.

I am uber excited to share a new product with you.  Have you heard of Raddish?

Raddish is a monthly subscription box that gets delivered right to your door. What's in it?  It is filled with culinary adventures and family fun!  Each monthly box is themed and has everything except the ingredients.

Here is what is included:

- 3 family friendly recipe guides
- 2 creative activities
- A list of the groceries needed for each recipe
- A skill card
- An adorable Raddish patch you can iron on the Apron (which comes free with a 3,6 or 12 month subscription)
- New theme each month
- Table Talk Cards (LOVE THESE!)

Even the "older" children will get into it with the CHEMISTRY aspect.

Love how it has the pictures and words. All ages will be able to help out without frustration.

Probably one of the elements that I LOVE the most are these Table Talk Cards.

Who would benefit from a Raddish monthly subscription?

Young children (ages 3-6) with parents guidance
Kids & tweens (ages 7-12)
Parents (Love the shopping lists)
Busy Families - it's all laid out for you!

The quality of the paper, printing and products are superior!

You won't find another product like this on the market.

There are four levels of subscription and you can check them all out over at the Raddish site.

I can't wait to share all the fun we had in the kitchen making a recipe from our Raddish box!

Stay Tuned.....

"The creator of Raddish, Samantha Barnes, hopes families everywhere will share in these simple pleasures that cooking together can foster. "

DISCLOSURE: I was given a Raddish box to review. The words and opinions are all my own.

This looks like fun Melissa! Thanks for sharing! I'm always trying to find ways to get my kids more involved in the kitchen, something that I did not grow up doing unfortunately :( I'll have to check your links out!

National Chocolate Chip Day

May 15, 2012 is National Chocolate Chip Day Today is National Chocolate Chip Day! Chocolate chips are an essential ingredient in dozens of delicious baked goods—chocolate chip cookies, chocolate chip pancakes, chocolate chip muffins, chocolate chip brownies, chocolate chip bagels, and many more. You can even find chili recipes that call for these sweet morsels! In the 1930s, Ruth Graves Wakefield created the original chocolate chip cookie at her Toll House Inn in Whitman, Massachusetts. Ruth intended to bake chocolate cookies for her guests, but she ran out of baker’s chocolate. She substituted with chopped up semi-sweet chocolate morsels and discovered that the pieces did not melt into the dough as she expected. Her cookies were an instant hit. Today, 25% of all the cookies baked in the United States are chocolate chip! To celebrate National Chocolate Chip Day, pick up a bag of chocolate chips at the supermarket and bake something yummy to share with friends and cowor
