Updates on where we have been.....

Hi all...

I have been relaxed on updating you all on the happenings here at The Joys of Home Educating. It's not that I don't want to update everyone on what is happening, it's just other things have taken a priority.

Since my father's journey home to heaven in mid-March, I have not been able to really get my act together.  I have ALWAYS been a very organized person and a master "list maker".   I can't put my finger on what is happening in my head, but it's not "me".   There are some behind the scenes happening with my father's Will and his girlfriend, that have prevented me from closer and moving on.  Until all that is settled, I am afraid that my mind will continue to be random and haywire.   In addition, I am finally addressing a shoulder injury that I have been afraid to see a doctor on for fear of a needed surgery.  I really don't have time for that....

What I do know for sure.....

I am excited that the cold weather is behind us and we have started our Spring/Summer travel season. Kicking it off with a three day road trip with myself and the children to Mystic, CT last week.  It was a very busy three days.

The Mystic Aquarium is always a favorite of ours.

This trip we made a special trip to the Dinosaur Place.  What fun!

In addition to that....

The Mystic Seaport is always a favorite place to visit for some educational fun!

This is our first trip to the every popular Mystic Pizza. The kids thought it was a special treat when they saw all the movie pictures on the walls.

We took time out for some "down time" at a playground, soaking in the sun!

We have been able to see some of our friends here and there for some spring hikes and fellowship.

This week is packed with field trips and school...gearing up for Sammie's 5th birthday party this coming weekend.

We have the camper back in the driveway after the long winter storage. I am so excited to camp in two weeks for our first trip in the 2014 camping season. Mother's Day is the weekend we always kick it off!  We have 5 trips planned already with a hopeful 3 more to come!

Well you are pretty much caught up....I have been checking out your blogs even if I am not leaving comments. 8)

Enjoy your day and Be Blessed!

I love the field trips. I understand the difficulty of losing someone close to you. I lost my brother recently and I am having a hard time of it, and cannot get myself together again.

National Chocolate Chip Day

May 15, 2012 is National Chocolate Chip Day Today is National Chocolate Chip Day! Chocolate chips are an essential ingredient in dozens of delicious baked goods—chocolate chip cookies, chocolate chip pancakes, chocolate chip muffins, chocolate chip brownies, chocolate chip bagels, and many more. You can even find chili recipes that call for these sweet morsels! In the 1930s, Ruth Graves Wakefield created the original chocolate chip cookie at her Toll House Inn in Whitman, Massachusetts. Ruth intended to bake chocolate cookies for her guests, but she ran out of baker’s chocolate. She substituted with chopped up semi-sweet chocolate morsels and discovered that the pieces did not melt into the dough as she expected. Her cookies were an instant hit. Today, 25% of all the cookies baked in the United States are chocolate chip! To celebrate National Chocolate Chip Day, pick up a bag of chocolate chips at the supermarket and bake something yummy to share with friends and cowor
