Hi and Welcome to The Joys of Home Educating where I share the ins and outs of being a mom who home educates her children.

I live in the Hudson Valley area of  New York with my husband and four children.  I started blogging in 2007 when my father was real ill. Since then the blog has evolved to a place where I share our adventures in life. Everything from home educating our three children, to travel, to crafting and throwing in a recipe here and there.  

I hope you find something to take away with you from reading The Joys of Home Educating.

Other than my salvation...staying home and raising our children is the best gift I have ever been given!

National Chocolate Chip Day

May 15, 2012 is National Chocolate Chip Day Today is National Chocolate Chip Day! Chocolate chips are an essential ingredient in dozens of delicious baked goods—chocolate chip cookies, chocolate chip pancakes, chocolate chip muffins, chocolate chip brownies, chocolate chip bagels, and many more. You can even find chili recipes that call for these sweet morsels! In the 1930s, Ruth Graves Wakefield created the original chocolate chip cookie at her Toll House Inn in Whitman, Massachusetts. Ruth intended to bake chocolate cookies for her guests, but she ran out of baker’s chocolate. Two Giveaways!
