Farmhouse Friday

Welcome to another Farmhouse Friday here at Woodwater Farmhouse.  Things are still pretty warm around here but that heat will break today!  Not sure if it will return but at least for the weekend we catch a break!

Which is great, because we are camping again!

Last weekend we camped - farm camping is our favorite!  It's in a beautiful part of New Jersey and less than an hour from our home.  The nice thing about camping here this time of year, you leave your camper on your site as long as you camp three weekends in a row!  Score!  They have a great dog park also!  A ton of dogs at this campground make it fun for Lilly too!

Cows, calves, goats, sheep, bunnies, donkeys and mini horses...oh and ducks. All there to be loved on!  We brought a bag full of our Asian pears to share with them all!

The theme of the weekend was Halloween. We participated last year and it was so much fun. This year Molly was the only one in the family who wanted to participate. She came in 4th with a ribbon to call her own!

The temps were still in the upper 80's so the pool at the campground was still open!  Thankful for that.

What I also love is that this campground is family owned for generations. Cousins, brothers, sisters, aunts and uncles...all working together for the greater good of these animals.

It was our last week of our 16/17 school year as we start back October 2nd to our new "grade levels"...

This week, Zachary has been doing the IOWA (standardized testing) and the girls working on their 1st Fall Oral Homeschool Day report at the library (next Friday).

Our pool is still open although the temps are cooler today so we are probably going to close it next Monday (Columbus Day).

What's up for the weekend:  Camping!

I pray your week is filled with love and laughter - stay away from the news...just some advice...

National Chocolate Chip Day

May 15, 2012 is National Chocolate Chip Day Today is National Chocolate Chip Day! Chocolate chips are an essential ingredient in dozens of delicious baked goods—chocolate chip cookies, chocolate chip pancakes, chocolate chip muffins, chocolate chip brownies, chocolate chip bagels, and many more. You can even find chili recipes that call for these sweet morsels! In the 1930s, Ruth Graves Wakefield created the original chocolate chip cookie at her Toll House Inn in Whitman, Massachusetts. Ruth intended to bake chocolate cookies for her guests, but she ran out of baker’s chocolate. She substituted with chopped up semi-sweet chocolate morsels and discovered that the pieces did not melt into the dough as she expected. Her cookies were an instant hit. Today, 25% of all the cookies baked in the United States are chocolate chip! To celebrate National Chocolate Chip Day, pick up a bag of chocolate chips at the supermarket and bake something yummy to share with friends and cowor...
