Farmhouse Friday

It was a busy weekend last weekend and quick week, it seemed, this week. We were busy with Christmas happenings! Started our Advent - Unwrapping the Greatest Gift...had friends over at the farmhouse and chopped down our last and final tree for the living room!

Local tree farm...any tree...you pick, you chop...friends met up with us...fun traditions!

USMC Toys for Tots - Santa came in on the train to our town. Kids enjoyed hot cocoa, playing with friends and of course, dropping off our toys for those in need.

Farmhouse was filled with our BFF's last weekend. Cooking, baking, decorating, concerts, joyful noise...loved it all!

This weekend and up until New Years is just as busy, but it's a good busy! Blessings to you all and enjoy the weekend! We might be getting some snow!!

National Chocolate Chip Day

May 15, 2012 is National Chocolate Chip Day Today is National Chocolate Chip Day! Chocolate chips are an essential ingredient in dozens of delicious baked goods—chocolate chip cookies, chocolate chip pancakes, chocolate chip muffins, chocolate chip brownies, chocolate chip bagels, and many more. You can even find chili recipes that call for these sweet morsels! In the 1930s, Ruth Graves Wakefield created the original chocolate chip cookie at her Toll House Inn in Whitman, Massachusetts. Ruth intended to bake chocolate cookies for her guests, but she ran out of baker’s chocolate. She substituted with chopped up semi-sweet chocolate morsels and discovered that the pieces did not melt into the dough as she expected. Her cookies were an instant hit. Today, 25% of all the cookies baked in the United States are chocolate chip!
