Farmhouse Friday - January

Hi friends, it's been a LONG time since I have posted a Farmhouse Friday. Mostly because in January we are doing a No Spend January and I have been posting on Mondays. My last post for that will be Monday the 29th and Farmhouse Fridays will be back!!!

Now on to what we have been up to.....

The girls and I went on a girls day out.  Taking in a movie ($ 5 Tuedays at our AMC if you are STUBS member) and going to Starbucks for hot cocoa and snacks!  We used gift cards for it all!!! (NO SPEND!)

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND The Greatest Showman!

School has been great. If you missed my review of the Reading 3A from BJU Press, you can catch up on it here.  Molly has been working hard on her 5th grade curriculum. Zachary has been super busy with middle school. I am looking into an online high school for him for next year.

I had my monthly luncheon with a great friend this week. We switch on and off hosting.

Keeping up on my goals for 2018 and looking back at 2017 on my fitbit.

Hubby and I had a date day and went camper shopping. Find out the results of that HERE.

We have had so much snow and now it is 55 degrees and zero snow. This weather has been CRAZY!

We had some friends over for the playoff game last weekend...enough about that 8(

The children continue to have riding lessons, martial arts and sewing lessons.

This weekend is quiet...shhh...we are cleaning and preparing for a busy February!  We have a banquet tonight for our youngest. She is being celebrated at a Black Belt banquet!

I am continuing with my $ 100 weekly grocery bill challenge in February. I started using Walmart order on line and pick up in January and LOVE IT so that will continue. I think I will be doing every other week and buy for 2 weeks, saves me some gas too.

If you are interested in trying out the Walmart pick up - here is a code for your first time use. You will get $ 10 off and I will also!

I have been pinning and preparing for the Winter Olympics for school teachings. You can use the Olympics to teach almost all of the subjects!  Plus we have Valentines Day, Chinese New Year and Mardi Gras thrown in there.

How has your January shaped up?

National Chocolate Chip Day

May 15, 2012 is National Chocolate Chip Day Today is National Chocolate Chip Day! Chocolate chips are an essential ingredient in dozens of delicious baked goods—chocolate chip cookies, chocolate chip pancakes, chocolate chip muffins, chocolate chip brownies, chocolate chip bagels, and many more. You can even find chili recipes that call for these sweet morsels! In the 1930s, Ruth Graves Wakefield created the original chocolate chip cookie at her Toll House Inn in Whitman, Massachusetts. Ruth intended to bake chocolate cookies for her guests, but she ran out of baker’s chocolate. She substituted with chopped up semi-sweet chocolate morsels and discovered that the pieces did not melt into the dough as she expected. Her cookies were an instant hit. Today, 25% of all the cookies baked in the United States are chocolate chip! To celebrate National Chocolate Chip Day, pick up a bag of chocolate chips at the supermarket and bake something yummy to share with friends and cowor
